Kafka Transformed, Wadham College Oxford, 18-20 September 2024
Organised by the AHRC project 'Kafka's Transformative Communities', this conference features over 100 speakers from five continents. Across three strands - 'Transformation'; 'New Voices'; and 'Resonances, Networks and Legacies', it will explore Kafka studies over the past century, today and in the future. A particular focus will be Kafka's reception in different regions and communities around the world as well as in different artforms and media, which have played a key role in Kafka's ongoing vibrant legacy.
The conference features two keynote lectures, by Professor Kata Gellen (Duke University) and Professor Paulo de Medeiros (University of Warwick) as well as a roundtable with our participating artists and a concert, 'Amerika', with Paul Lodge and his band.
