Call for Abstracts: Postcolonialism

Book Series Title: Contemporary Literary Studies on Language and Literature

Publisher: HJ Verlag Maurer – Maurer Press, Frankfurt, Germany, www.maurer.press

We are pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts/Chapters for the third volume of our book series, Contemporary Literary Studies on Language and Literature. This volume invites scholars, researchers, and academics to contribute high-quality chapters on a wide range of literary topics and critical approaches. We welcome submissions from diverse literary traditions and global perspectives. Contributions may focus on novels, poetry, drama, biographies, and various interdisciplinary and comparative literary studies. The volume is welcoming submission in English, German, Turkish, and Azerbaijani languages.

Suggested (but not limited to) Research Areas:

Postcolonial Literature: Contributions are invited across all literary genres—novels, poetry, drama, life writing, and experimental forms—focusing on themes such as colonialism, decolonization, migration, diaspora, cultural hybridity, indigenous resistance, racial capitalism, transnational identities, and language politics. Interdisciplinary approaches including ecocriticism, feminism, disability studies, technology, and utopian studies in postcolonial contexts are welcome.

• Postcolonial Disability Studies: Examining how colonial histories have shaped perceptions of disability and bodily difference, especially in literature from formerly colonized regions.
• Postcolonial Feminism and Gender Studies: Exploring the intersections of colonialism, patriarchy, and gendered experience through literary texts, with attention to indigenous, queer, and trans perspectives.
• Postcolonial Human-Animal Studies: Analyzing how colonial ideologies shaped representations of animals and nature, and how literature challenges or reimagines these frameworks.
• Postcolonial Posthumanism and AI: Investigating literary portrayals of technology, biopolitics, and human/nonhuman futures in postcolonial contexts.
• Postcolonial Ecocriticism: Engaging with environmental justice, land rights, resource extraction, and indigenous environmental knowledge in literature from colonized and decolonized spaces.
• Postcolonial Utopian and Dystopian Literature: Exploring speculative visions of anti-colonial futures, postcolonial reconstruction, and critiques of global inequality and empire.
• Other postcolonial approaches and interdisciplinary literary research are also welcome.
