Call for submissions – peer-reviewed journal Studies in Travel Writing

Founded in 1997 by Tim Youngs, Studies in Travel Writing is an international, refereed journal dedicated to research on travel texts. Unrestricted by period or region of study, the journal allows for the application of a range of scholarly and critical approaches. It welcomes contributions from within, between or across academic disciplines; from senior scholars and early career researchers. It also publishes original interviews with travel writers, special themed issues, and book reviews.

After changes in the editorial board and the taking over of the editorship by Heidi Liedke (Frankfurt) and Sandra Vlasta (Genoa), we are now inviting submissions that complement the journal’s current content. In particular, we are interested in voices from the Global South, travel accounts from marginalized voices, such as non-white, non-Western, non-male authors, and travelogues by female and queer travellers.                                              Furthermore, we encourage scholars to submit contributions from the field of urban literary studies, analyses of narratives of travel that reflect the Millenial mentality, explorations of early travel writing, and articles that are interested in the intersection of travel and translation.
