    Le présent volume contient les Actes du colloque international sur les " Représentations et conceptions de l'espace dans la culture médiévale " qui s'est déroulé du 19 au 21 octobre 2009 sous les auspices de l'Institut d'Etudes Médiévales de l'Université de Fribourg (Suisse). La participation de spécialistes de rang international à cette rencontre atteste du vif intérêt que suscitent aujourd'hui dans la communauté scientifique la perception et la compréhension médiévales de l'espace. En effet, d'importantes études menées au cours de la dernière décennie auront éclairé sous un nouveau jour la signification complexe de l'espace dans la civilisation du Moyen Age latin, qui se décline sur plusieurs registres : social, économique, politique, culturel et religieux. Loin d'apaiser la curiosité scientifique, les études récentes sur ces diverses facettes de l'espace médiéval ont ouvert de nouveaux horizons, suscité des interrogations nouvelles, mis à jour un vaste chantier d'investigation sur les rapports aux lieux et à l'espace dans la vie et la culture du Moyen Age européen. Le colloque visait donc à explorer davantage quelques pistes de recherche. Il a réuni des chercheurs de pays, de langues, de cultures et de domaines scientifiques différents. Il a ainsi donné lieu à un dialogue animé qui aura permis de confronter et d'enrichir mutuellement les visions de l'espace médiéval des spécialistes de l'histoire, de la philosophie, de l'histoire de l'art et de la littérature This volume contains the records of the international Freiburg Colloquium of the same name which was held by the Medieval Institute of the University of Freiburg from October 19 to 21, 2009. The academic reconstruction of the conception and perception of space in the culture of the Latin Middle Ages requires a differentiated treatment and corresponding competencies - something which can be realized only through an interdisciplinary approach. Each contributor to this volume examines the given theme from the perspective of his or her own specialist field

    Quels que soient le lieu ou la civilisation que l’on explore, des relations profondes entre religion et art se décèlent. L’art traduit volontiers les aspects des fonctions religieuses, soit dans le cadre organisé d’un rituel, soit plus spontanément, dans l’expression de la foi personnelle ou collective. Les religions font appel aux artistes pour rendre apparent et intelligible l’invisible mais se heurtent souvent à eux en leur imposant des formes. Mais si bien des civilisations ont fait l’objet d’études fouillées sur la manière dont elles articulaient l’art et la religion, force est de constater que très peu de chercheurs se sont attelés à une vue transversale de ces notions. Cet ouvrage s’inscrit dès lors dans une perspective comparative ayant pour but de souligner les diachronies et les spécificités religieuses.

    Les pratiques de lecture des élèves ont fait l’objet de recherches de grande ampleur. Mais que sait-on des pratiques d’enseignement ? Qu’est-ce qui se construit lorsque des enseignants et des élèves abordent un texte en classe ? Cet objet varie-t-il en fonction des textes ? De leur longueur ? De leur statut ? L’auteur a mené une recherche avec des enseignants qui ont étudié Candide de Voltaire et La fée Carabine de Pennac avec leurs élèves de 16 ans. Comment les enseignants s’y sont-ils pris dans cette entreprise complexe? Comment ont-ils assuré les liens entre les lectures réalisées à la maison et le travail en classe ? Certes, chaque enseignant s’y prend différemment. Mais un phénomène commun apparait: le recours à des genres d’activité scolaire pour appréhender différentes facettes des textes littéraires et assurer les liens entre le commentaire de texte et les lectures des élèves. Le chercheur trouvera dans cet ouvrage une démarche d’analyse systématique des interactions didactiques.     The enigmatic nature of Mallarmé’s works disconcerted his first readers and they were published at a period when the number of newspaper and periodicals was rapidly increasing. In the last quarter of the 19th century many comments on his writings appeared in print, some were laudatory, others claimed that he wished to found a poetic School of the Unintelligible. Today’s reader will find gathered here reviews published when individual works first appeared and critical texts on his work in general. Among the aspects of his influence on his contemporaries which have been little known hitherto are the reactions of those who heard the first performances of Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun in 1894 and 1895, and the use that was made of Mallarmé’s name in aesthetic and political polemics at the time, associating him with Odilon Redon or Émile Zola. Some of his utterances made at the celebrated Mardis are also recorded here. L’œuvre de Mallarmé laissa ses premiers lecteurs perplexes et cela à une époque où les journaux et les périodiques se multipliaient. Dans le dernier quart du XIXe siècle les commentaires sur ses poèmes étaient nombreux, les uns dus à ses admirateurs, les autres à des critiques qui croyaient qu’il se voulait le fondateur d’une « école de l’inintelligible ». Sont rassemblées ici des pages qui furent publiées au moment de la parution de tel ouvrage ou des textes polémiques suscités par son œuvre en général. Parmi les aspects de son influence sur ses contemporains qui n’ont guère été évoqués jusqu’ici sont les réactions aux premières auditions du Prélude à l’Après-midi d’un faune de Debussy en 1894 et 1895 et l’usage du nom de Mallarmé à des fins de combat esthétique ou politique, en l’associant soit à Odilon Redon soit à Zola. Ici on trouve aussi des propos entendus par quelqu’un qui avait assisté à ses Mardis.

    The book has three axes of reflection on the concept of transference. In the first part of the volume, Hans-Jürgen Lüsebrink evokes contemporary changes that increase intercultural communications. Walter Moser examines the history of concepts and explores the possibility of "cultural transfer" an instrument that would account for the great cultural mobility that we see today worldwide. Pierre Lévy gives this conceptual exploration highest amplitude by moving it to the general area of information transfer. The second part, "The transfer and knowledge", occupies the bulk of the work. Daniel Simeoni explores translation studies documenting the parallelism of translation and transfer concepts. In psychoanalysis, both as a site that as a practice, the transfer has a long conceptual history; Ellen Corin yet open dialogue with other disciplines and knowledge and raises the possibility of laterally moving the achievements of his thinking to the field of anthropology. In criminal law, Alvaro Pires explores theoretical and methodological issues of transfer, supporting his words with examples. Nicolas Goyer distinguishes between "family transfer" and "migration transfer" to illustrate the need to challenge the priority that has long given the intergenerational transfer.

     

    The third part explores the overlapping of transfers and the media. Timothy Murray explores the 'new media art', where the political intersect, the médiaticotechnologique, psychoanalytic and intercultural. Wolfgang Ernst questioned the "transfer" the confluence of ethnology, ethnography, museology, history and cultural analysis, compared to the theory and history of the media. L’ouvrage propose trois axes de réflexion sur le concept de transfert. Dans la première partie du volume, Hans-Jürgen Lüsebrink évoque les changements contemporains qui augmentent les communications interculturelles. Walter Moser examine l’histoire des concepts et explore la possibilité de faire du « transfert culturel » un instrument qui permettrait de rendre compte de la grande mobilité culturelle que nous observons de nos jours à l’échelle mondiale. Pierre Lévy donne à cette exploration conceptuelle la plus grande amplitude en la déplaçant vers le domaine général du transfert des informations. La deuxième partie, « Le transfert et les savoirs », occupe le gros de l’ouvrage. Daniel Simeoni y explore la traductologie en documentant le parallélisme des concepts de traduction et de transfert. Dans la psychanalyse, tant comme site du savoir que comme pratique, le transfert a une longue histoire conceptuelle; Ellen Corin ouvre pourtant le dialogue à d’autres savoirs et disciplines et évoque la possibilité de déplacer latéralement les acquis de sa réflexion vers le domaine de l’anthropologie. En matière de droit criminel, Alvaro Pires explore des questions théoriques et méthodologiques du transfert, étayant ses propos d’exemples. Nicolas Goyer fait la distinction entre le « transfert généalogique » et le « transfert migratoire » pour illustrer la nécessité de contester la priorité qu’on a longtemps accordée au transfert intergénérationnel.

     

    La troisième partie explore l’imbrication des transferts et des médias. Timothy Murray explore le new media art, où se croisent le politique, le médiaticotechnologique, le psychanalytique et l’interculturel.     The Roman de Renart was for long little known, even in France, in its original mediaeval version, but the reputation of the wily fox was widespread, in large measure because of his fame in the Middle Ages. This fame had spread to much of the rest of Western Europe and the stories of Renart had inspired many different literary works in many countries; they were among the earlier published works in Belgium, Holland, Germany, and England. A copious iconography - mediaeval wall-paintings, misereres, architectural carvings, manuscript illustrations, and, later, book illustrations - maintained the frame of the wily fox. Renart, originally a comic but also satirical personage, finally became one of the most popular personifications of the devil in literature and in art. This book will interest the specialist in many fields, treating as it does a subject that had ramifications not only in French literature, but also in German, Italian, Flemish and Dutch, English, and mediaeval Latin literature. Interest in the Roman de Renart has increased notably of late, and the iconography of Renart continues to attract attention. For students of English literature the subject of Renart is an important one, first because of the close relationship of mediaeval French and English literature, and also because of Chaucer's charming story of the Nun's Priest Tale, which was largely inspired by the oldest French branch of Renart

    Main description: Das Verhältnis von Literatur und Moral wird neuerdings mit posthumanistischen Konzepten von Ethik und Ästhetik diskutiert. Dieser Band setzt bei der inflationären Verwendung des Begriffs der Ethik an und konfrontiert die verbreiteten romanistischen Ansätze mit einer komparatistischen Fragestellung, die den Vorstellungen einzelner literarischer Traditionen ihre Eigenständigkeit belässt. An die Stelle der Ausrichtung deutscher Philosophen oder Literaturwissenschaftler am spanischen oder französischen 17. Jahrhundert tritt so eine Perspektivierung, die den Besonderheiten in Deutschland und England oder Amerika ebenso gerecht zu werden sucht wie der Hinterfragung von Moralistik unter dem Eindruck der totalitären Systeme des 20. Jahrhunderts. 30 Spezialisten für romanische, deutsche, englische bzw. amerikanische, ungarische und slawische Literaturen interpretieren eine Vielzahl von Autoren von Montaigne bis Canetti und beziehen dabei die verschiedensten literarischen Gattungen ein, um das breite Spektrum moralistischen Schreibens herauszuarbeiten und so der Forschung neue Impulse zu verleihen.
