    Cette thèse combine l'approche des études cognitives et culturelles ainsi que de la traductologie afin d'examiner l'écriture, l'édition, la traduction et la réception internationale des romans policiers interculturels, en prenant comme modèle deux romans qui se déroulent en Nouvelle-Zélande par le romancier français Caryl Férey, Haka (1998) et Utu (2004). Nous situons d'abord Férey par rapport aux polars français du pacifique sud et aux polars néo-zélandais, et nous montrons que ses livres en diffèrent de façon significative, surtout à cause de son choix d'écrire de l'intérieur de la Nouvelle-Zélande et de la culture maorie. Dans une étude de cas qualitative fondée sur des interviews, nous situons Férey vis-à-vis de ses éditeurs et de ses lecteurs et nous identifions des thèmes récurrents dans son écriture avant d'identifier et d'analyser son emprunt à d'autres textes. Puis, au moyen d'une analyse de la traduction américaine d'Utu (2011), nous soutenons que certains choix culturels ont pour effet d'aliéner les lecteurs néo-zélandais, tandis que les choix linguistiques suggèrent que ceux qui lisent le texte en anglais ont moins l'opportunité de se sentir proche du texte sur les plans intellectuel et émotionnel. Mon analyse de la réception de ces œuvres, la première étude empirique longitudinale et interculturelle de l'influence d'un roman entier sur les opinions (culturelles) des lecteurs, montre que l'information fictionnelle est absorbée par les lecteurs et se mêle aux opinions et aux croyances portant sur une culture. Nous explorons des théories littéraires cognitives afin d'éclairer à la fois l'écriture et la lecture de la fiction interculturelle et du polar My research combines cognitive, cultural and translation studies approaches to examine the writing, publishing, translation, and international reception of cross-cultural crime fiction, taking as exemplars two novels set in New Zealand by french crime writer Caryl Férey: Haka (1998) and Utu (2004). I first situate Férey against corpus norms of South Pacific french crime fiction and of New Zealand crime fiction and show that he differs in significant ways, not least in his choice to write from within New Zealand and Māori culture. In an interview-based qualitative case study situating Férey alongside his publishers and his readers, I identify recurring themes in his writing before identifying and analysing his borrowing from other texts. In analysing the american english translation of Utu (2011), I then argue that cultural choices alienate New Zealand readers, while linguistic choices mean readers in english have less opportunity to connect intellectually and emotionally with the text. My reader reception study, which is the first empirical, longitudinal, cross-cultural, novel-length reception study of the influence of a text on readers' (cultural) opinions, shows with statistical significance that fictional information is absorbed into factual beliefs and opinions about a culture. I use approaches from cognitive literary studies to illuminate both the writing and reading of cross-cultural and crime fiction

    Le terme "gouslé" (du serbe "gusle") désigne à la fois un instrument de musique et la tradition épique des Slaves du Sud. Du fait qu'elle est restée vivante jusqu'à nos jours, cette tradition est susceptible de contribuer à la compréhension des autres épopées, en substituant son contexte aux leurs, souvent perdus ou incomplets. Je présente les gouslés, leur technique, leur histoire et leur tradition, avant de passer à une comparaison avec les chants homériques et les chansons de geste. Cette comparaison repose sur la linguistique de corpus et l'utilisation des technologies de l'information. Un corpus contenant 3.665.309 mots est établi à cette fin, dont la partie slave est rendu publique sur le site guslarskepesme.com. Tout en suivant le sillage de Milman Parry et Albert Lord, je propose un élargissement de leur concept de "formule" The term "gousle" refers to both a musical instrument and the South Slavic epic tradition. Because it has remained alive to this day, this tradition is likely to contribute to the understanding of other epics, by substituting its context for theirs, often lost or incomplete. I present the gousl', their technique, their history and tradition, before moving to a comparison with the Homeric songs and the Chansons de geste. This comparison is based on the corpus linguistics and the use of information technology. A corpus containing 3.665.309 words is established for that purpose and its Slavic part is published on the site guslarskepesme.com. While following the path traced by Milman Parry and Albert Lord, I propose broadening of their concept of "formula". I reintroduce the "cliché", a unit including the invariant as well as its variable realization, and aspiring to encompass any recurrence within the poetic language : phraseologic or other. Indeed, my thesis shows a network of links extending not only between the clichés of the same level, but also through different levels, which I explain by a theory of resonance. The correspondences integrate a typological classification: speeches, place, time, feelings... In addition to this common "morphology", I demonstrate that the three traditions, from the socio-historic point of view, share the comparable models of development. Finally, a particulary complex cliché, the device named "Slavic antithesis", is used to examine the monogenetic or polygenetic origin of correspondences

    Ma thèse intitulée « Blanchot-Kafka : un rapport de ressemblance comique » lie les œuvres de ces deux écrivains à partir de la critique blanchotienne consacrée à l'image comme rapport de ressemblance. Partant de la question de la mimesis, passant par le romantisme allemand, la philosophie de l'art et les théories esthétiques jusqu'à nos jours, le rapprochement entre les deux écrivains devient un simulacre qui relate le récit de l'image. En outre, en explorant les domaines de la philosophie de l'humour, on a pu remarquer que la ressemblance implique un aspect comique. On peut donc tenter de proposer une théorie esthétique qui en premier lieu renforce le rapport entre les notions de ressemblance, de rire et de sourire dans les œuvres de Maurice Blanchot et de Franz Kafka, et en second lieu suggère que le rapport Blanchot-Kafka est un espace critique défini par un mouvement mimétique révélant un esprit comique This thesis entitled "Blanchot-Kafka: a relation of comic resemblance", joins the works of these two writers by drawing on Blanchot's criticism of the notion of the image considered as a relation of resemblance. Starting from the concept of mimesis, passing through German Romanticism, philosophy of art and aesthetic theories up to the present day, the relation between the two authors become a simulacrum that relates the narrative of the image. Moreover, by exploring the field of the philosophy of humour, I have noted that resemblance has a comic aspect. Therefore, I have proposed an aesthetic theory that firstly reinforces the association between the notion of resemblance, of laughter and smiling in the works of Maurice Blanchot and Franz Kafka, and secondly suggests that Blanchot-Kafka relationship is a critical space defined by a mimetic movement that reveals a comic spirit

    Les récits de voyage sont très présents dans l'autobiographie beauvoirienne, depuis les Mémoires d'une jeune fille rangée (1958), jusqu'à Tout compte fait (1972), en passant par La Force de l'âge (1960), et par La Force des choses (1962). Ces narrations viatiques ne constituent pas un ensemble qui peut être séparé du reste du texte autobiographique, mais, au contraire, elles constituent la structure même des volumes mémoriels. Le voyage n'est pas l'occasion d'un éparpillement» mais d'une concentration sur la personne qu'est Simone de Beauvoir. Le but de cette thèse est de dégager l’importance du récit de voyage dans l'œuvre autobiographique beauvoirienne, et de dessiner un portrait de Simone de Beauvoir en voyageuse, en étudiant précisément la manière dont elle se présente à son lecteur Travel narratives are very present in Beauvoir's autobiography, from the Memolrs of a Dutiful Daughter (1958), until AH Said and Done (1972), through The Prime of Life (1960), and by Force of Circumstance (1962), These narratives do not a set that can be separated from the rest of the autobiographical text, but, on the contrary, they constitute the very structure of memorial volumes. The trip is not the opportunity of a scattering, but a concentration on the person Simone de Beauvoir. The purpose of this thesis is to identify the importance of travel narratives in Beauvoir's autobiographical work, and draw a portrait of Simone de Beauvoir as traveller, studying precisely how she presents herself to the reader
