After studying the link between consumption centrality and life satisfaction, we will focus on the two antecedentsof consumption centrality. Two large-scale studies validate the effect of consumption centrality on life satisfaction. This relation is moderated by customer satisfaction. Moreover, consumer self-congruity with the service experience and consumer lifestyle-congruitywith the service experienceare found tohave an impact on consumption centrality concept.

International audience ; This paper reports advancement in bringing flexible piezoelectric nanogenerators (NGs) closer to being realized in a commercial market. We have adopted a method to synthesize piezoelectric ZnO nanorods (NRs) on any electrically conductive surface without a seed layer or a specially selected substrate with matching lattice spacing. By contacting a metal with a dissimilar electro-negativity, a galvanic cell is created in the electrolyte growth medium. We have demonstrated the performance of the as grown NRs on a thin NG using common PET film. The device produced voltages in excess of three times higher than a parallel fabricated reference sample under bending loads.

The last years have seen an important increase in the development and proliferation of wireless technologies. This success, mostly related to mobility and the relative ease with which wireless devices can be linked (no wires needed between parties), has affected consumer as well as industrial applications. There are however many areas that are still closed to the introduction of wireless systems. Among the factors that affect wireless acceptance, one can name security and the complexity often involved in setting up networks. Unlike wired systems, the extra confidence afforded by “seen wires” is not available in wireless systems, making it difficult for the users to know if communication occurs between legitimate parties. This places wireless technology before the need to introduce simple methods to improve the set up and authentication processes. These aspects are addressed by binding methods. It is our purpose in this document to present such solutions, and especially how they can be used in 802.15.4 based networks. We will mainly focus on solutions involving optical or RFID techniques. We will also suggest some improvements where needed.

6LoWPAN’s fragmentation mechanism enables transport of IPv6 datagrams with the required minimum MTU of 1280 bytes over IEEE 802.15.4-based networks. Testbed experiments showed disastrously bad datagram success rates for a collection traffic scenario with large, 6LoWPAN-fragmented datagrams, which significantly differed from the simulation results for a comparable scenario. In this paper we present an experimental setup that enables capturing the MAC and transceiver states of participating nodes in realtime. The results of our experiments show, that for the given fragmentation/collection scenario, the usage of the extended operating mode of the transceiver hardware, which provides CSMA/CA, ACKs and retransmissions in hardware, is responsible for nearly all datagram losses. Therefore, we strongly advise against using such hardware-assisted modes of operation in similar traffic scenarios.
