In the face of demographic ageing European healthcare providers and policy makers are recognising an increasing prevalence of frail, community-dwelling older adults, prone to adverse healthcare outcomes. Prefrailty, before onset of functional decline, is suggested to be reversible but interventions targeting this risk syndrome are limited. No consensus on the definition, diagnosis or management of pre-frailty exists. The PERsonalised ICT Supported Service for Independent Living and Active Ageing (PERSSILAA) project (2013-2016 under Framework Programme 7, grant #610359) developed a comprehensive Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) supported platform to screen, assess, manage and monitor pre-frail community-dwelling older adults in order to address pre-frailty and promote active and healthy ageing. PERSSILAA, a multi-domain ICT service, targets three pre-frailty: nutrition, cognition and physical function. The project produced 42 recommendations across clinical (screening, monitoring and managing of pre-frail older adults) technical (ICT-based innovations) and societal (health literacy in older adults, guidance to healthcare professional, patients, caregivers and policy makers) areas. This paper describes the 25 healthcare related recommendations of PERSSILAA, exploring how they could be used in the development of future European guidelines on the screening and prevention of frailty.

146th TMS Annual Meeting and Exhibition, San Diego, CA, FEB 26-MAR 02, 2017 ; International audience ; Additive Manufacturing has shown growing interest in the last years compared to traditional techniques for aeronautical complex shaped parts. In this context, the development of multiperforated plates by additive techniques such as Selective Laser Melting and Electron Beam Melting with respect to conventional substractive technique by laser drilling can be promising for combustion chamber applications. Multiperforated plates have then been manufactured by SLM at ENSAM ParisTech and by EBM at SIMaP to provide efficient cooling system within the chamber. The present work has been focused on the detailed analysis of these different plates, including microstructural characterization and permeability measurements. A special attention was paid to the surface roughness since this parameter might be beneficial for an increasing heat transfer surface, but also might be deleterious for the film cooling stability because of the onset of turbulent regimes.

International audience ; The feasibility of room temperature ammonia gas sensors based on tin dioxide (SnO 2 ) functionalization has been demonstrated. 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) was used as an intermediate step, followed by functionalization with molecules having acyl chloride with different end functional groups molecules such as alkyl, acid and ester groups. Modified films were characterized by attenuated total reflectance infra-red spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR). Upon exposure to ammonia gas, the electrical conductance of alkyl, acid and ester modified SnO 2 -APTES increases, whereas other reducing gases such as ethanol, carbon monoxide and acetone show no change in conductance. Furthermore, ester modified SnO 2 is more selective than acid modified sensor regarding ethanol and carbon monoxide gases

International audience ; Thermal decomposition of silicon carbide (SiC) provides transfer free and wafer-scale homogeneous graphene forming on a semi-insulating substrate. Large-area monolayer graphene growth was initially developed at the atmospheric pressure (around 900 mbar) in an argon ambient and at high temperature (>1650°C). However, it remains challenging to obtain films with different and controlled characteristics such as the number of graphene layers or the doping by tuning the growth parameters. In this work, we optimized the epitaxial growth of monolayer graphene (1LG) on 4H-SiC (0001) under a low argon pressure of 10 mbar. This intermediate pressure allows growing a continued 1LG in a short process time of ~1h30. Here, we discuss the initial growth stages from buffer layer to 1LG as a function of annealing temperature (same heating rate). The combined Raman spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM) analyses show that a buffer layer, fully covering the Si-face of SiC, forms as the first step of growth (1600°C). Subsequently, 1LG starts to grow at step edges (1700°C) and continue to cover the buffer layer with a step-flow growth mechanism, as shown in the literature. Eventually, continued large-scale graphene films were achieved at 1750°C with a reproducible process. These graphene films were characterised by Raman, STM and electrical measurement. The integrated intensity of G-band in Raman spectra normalized with respect to a HOPG reference, AG/AG-HOPG, of each spectrum in Raman map is very close to the experimental value reported for a 1LG. Atomically resolved scanning tunnelling microscopy evidences a (6x6) superstructure, indicative of 1LG covering a reconstructed interface layer. Moreover, quantum Hall plateau values observed in our graphene layers confirmed both continuity and thickness of the 1LG film. The carrier density of pHall~1010 - 1011 cm-2 in 1LG films can be achieved at 1.7K in helium atmosphere. Thus, our as-grown 1LG graphene films with low p-type carrier density provide ...

International audience ; A novel multiplexed optoelectronic nose (opto-eN) has been developed based on an array of cross-reactive receptors and an optical detection system using surface plasmon resonance imaging. It is able to detect and analyze volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in the gas phase with a good sensitivity and selectivity. Based on pattern recognition, such an opto-eN is able to discern not only VOCs of different chemical families but also among the same family. Furthermore, after optimization, the system is very stable and reusable over at least three months with a good repeatability and reproducibility. Thus, this opto-eN is very promising for further analyses of more complex VOC mixtures with great potential for a wide range of applications.

Grammar is one of the necessary Arabic arts or important Arabic sciences that no one can neglect and leave and if he wants to be able to read the Arabic texts correctly and read the ability to read them accurately and understand their contents is good because it is related to the appointment of the functions of the word or related to prove late words. This means that it assigns the positions of the words and decides its role and confirms its place in the Arabic sentences, but that the grammar affects the meaning of a great and great impact. As science is looking for the process of giving movements late in Arabic detailed study so as to know the functions of the words found within the sentences. And that the speech is truly correct and writes good easy to understand. Knowledge of the importance of grammar and its benefits is necessary for the teacher of grammar and learner, because it is one of the elements related to motivation and one of the components related to the enthusiasm and one of the elements associated with tendencies, emotion, conscience, feeling, feeling and ambition. And that these internal factors should be concerned by the grammar teacher and take care of the learner, but committed to being satisfied because they play a great role and have a significant impact on the effectiveness of the teaching activities in terms of the teacher and the success of learning by the learner.

"To understand the role of machine-readable text corpora in linguistics it is necessary to consider the four possible sources of data for the linguist, viz. (1) the analyst's own introspection/ intuition, (2) more or less systematically conducted elicitation experiments with groups of native speakers of the language studied, (3) collections of authentic spoken or written citations gathered unsystematically, and (4) evidence extracted systematically from a well-defined corpus of texts. After a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of the various sources of data, I will briefly exemplify recent advances made in the corpus-based description of languages that have become possible as a result of the application of computer technology to linguistics and then go on to present the major databases currently available for the study of English and German."

In October 2015, the Cluster of Excellence 'Image Knowledge Gestaltung. An Interdisciplinary Laboratory' at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin staged a symposium entitled Science meets Comics. Academics from various disciplines converged along with artists from all over the world in order to discuss the future of global nutrition – and the medium of the comic strip as a communication tool for the complex issues in this field. The open two-day symposium was followed by a closed, three-day workshop wherein the artists and cluster members took up the issues raised at the symposium and worked on possible directions for the future.
