    Im Zuge des sogenannten "cultural turn", der die traditionellen Geisteswissenschaften als Kulturwissenschaften neu bestimmte, sah sich auch die Literaturwissenschaft mit ganz neuen Ansprüchen konfrontiert: Statt sich wie bisher mit literarischen Werken oder Texten des täglichen Gebrauchs zu befassen, sollte sie plötzlich mittels interdisziplinärer Ansätze kulturelle Phänomene aller Art wie Rituale, politische Machtstrukturen oder gesellschaftliche Konstellationen analysieren und erklären. Eine Möglichkeit, das Verhältnis von Text und kulturellem Kontext zu denken, bildet die Vorstellung der Textualität der Kultur, die von Stephen Greenblatt, Louis Montrose und anderen Vertretern des New Historicism unter Bezugnahme auf den Kulturbegriff des Ethnologen Clifford Geertz entwickelt wurde. Geertz versteht Kultur als ein „Netzwerk von bedeutungstragenden Verknüpfungen“ (Geertz 1973), dem ein semiotischer, also ein textueller Charakter eigen ist. Dieses analytische Modell eröffnet die Möglichkeit eines bruchlosen Übergangs zwischen dem Text und dem ihn umgebenden Kontext – eines Übergangs, der in beide Richtungen funktioniert und zudem als "dynamisch" vorgestellt wird: Nicht nur wird der Text als Produkt kultureller Einflüsse angesehen und in einen bereits existierenden Kontext eingeordnet, auch dieser Kontext selbst ist als Zeichengewebe charakterisiert durch seine latenten Bedeutungspotentialen, die erst in der entsprechenden Lektüre aktualisiert und damit realisiert werden. Diese Auffassung von der Textualität der Kultur und der Kulturalität von Texten bildet die gemeinsame methodische Annahme der im vorliegenden Tagungsband versammelten Beiträge. ; After the "cultural turn" of the 1990s redefined the traditional humanities under the label “Cultural Studies”, literary studies were confronted with new challenges. Suddenly, instead of concentrating mainly on literary works or texts fromeveryday life, they were expected to analyse and explain cultural phenomena such as rituals, structures of power or social constellations, using interdisciplinary methods. One possibility for conceptualizing the relationship between text and context is the notion of the "textuality of culture". This idea was coined by Stephen Greenblatt, Louis Montrose, and other scholars of "the New Historicism," referring to a concept of culture first developed by the ethnologist Clifford Geertz. To Geertz, culture is a “web of significance” of a semiotic and textual nature (Geertz 1973). Assuming a dynamic rather than a static relationship, this analytical model allows for fluent interactions between text and context: No longer is a text just considered to be a product of cultural influences set within a given context. Instead, this context, being a web of signs, was understood to be itself "textual", creating unfulfilled potentials of meaning. Only by being ‘read’ and actualized, are these cultural meanings solidified andthus made real. These notions of the "culturality of texts" and the "textuality of culture" constitute the common methodological assumptions of all the articles assembled in this volume.

    International audience ; Over the last two decades, groundwater systems and surface water bodies are being more and more considered as a same entity which constitutes a single resource within the hydrologic system; understanding groundwater surface water (GW–SW) interactions is necessary to effectively manage the water resources. Concepts, methods of analysis and classifications of these hydrodynamic interactions have thus been developed, mostly in case of porous aquifer. Today, GW–SW interactions are still often poorly understood in many watersheds, particularly in the case of complex aquifers like karst aquifers.This study focuses on the influence of groundwater on the genesis and propagation of surface floods in the case of a highly karstified watershed. GW–SW hydrodynamic interactions are analysed (i) at a local scale focussing on hydrodynamic interactions between the karst aquifer in the vicinity of the river and the river, and (ii) at a larger scale focussing on hydrodynamic interactions between a karst spring and sinkholes in the riverbed. Hydrodynamic time series are described using the karst watershed of the Coulazou River (western Montpellier, France) as a case study. Results are used to adapt GW–SW classifications that are usually devoted to porous media. In case of the studied karst aquifer, it is shown that the initial groundwater level may be used to forecast the type of hydraulic connection between the river and the saturated zone during flood. However, initial water level in the karst aquifer does not give any information about the flow direction (gaining or losing stream) during a flood. The latter is found to be also controlled by the limited discharge capacity of karst conduits. A conceptual model of karst/river interactions during flood is given, with concepts that are derived from the analysis of the Coulazou watershed but that can be easily applied to most of the karst watersheds.

    Seit der griechisch-lateinischen und jüdisch-christlichen Antike und in immer erneuten Rückgriffen auf diese beiden Traditionen haben die Völker Europas einen großen Schatz von Gedichten geschaffen, die die Epochen ihrer Geschichte zum Ausdruck gebracht und selbst mit geformt haben. Während Mythos, Epos und Roman die großen Geschichten der Welt und der Götter, der Völker und Helden erzählt haben, hat das Gedicht schon früh die Ich-sagende Stimme geschaffen und ihr so ermöglicht, sich in den großen und kleinen Ereignissen der Zeit zu Gehör und Geltung zu bringen; Gefühle, Haltungen, Werte auszuprobieren und so neue Mentalitäten vorzubereiten. Diese Arbeitsteilung zwischen Gedicht und Erzählung bleibt in den Vorlesungen dieses Buches immer im Blick, weil sie die inzwischen entwickelten Zugriffsweisen der Erzählforschung, der Narratologie, nutzen, um die besonderen Möglichkeiten der Lyrik zu entdecken. So sieht man klarer, welche Rolle Gedichte und Lieder spielen in der Subjektivierung der Religion und der Liebe seit den Reformationen, wie sie die Freisetzung des Individuums in der Aufklärung fördern und eine neue Natur- und Kunstreligion einüben, den Nationalismus des 19. Jahrhunderts stimulieren und mit gewagten Experimenten neue Haltungen im Prozess der modernen Zivilisation einzunehmen. Die Fachdisziplinen haben diesen gemeinsamen Schatz untereinander verteilt und damit fast aus den Augen verloren. Die öffentliche Vorlesung aber hat ihn den Beteiligten wieder sichtbar gemacht, immer am Beispiel und in einer allen zugänglichen Sprache, die in diesem Buch erhalten geblieben ist. ; Since ancient Greek-Latin and Judeo-Christian antiquity and also in a constant return to these two traditions the people of Europe have created a great treasure trove of poems. These poems have expressed and shaped the eras of their history. While myth, epic and novel have told the great stories of the world and of the gods, peoples and heroes, the poem created the ego-telling voice at an early age and thus enabled her to make herself heard and accentuated in the great and small events of the time; to try out feelings, attitudes, values and thus to prepare new mentalities. This division of labour between poem and narrative is always kept in view in the lectures of this book, because they use the now developed approaches of narrative research, narratology, to discover the special possibilities of poetry. Thus, one can see more clearly what role poems and songs play in the subjectivization of religion and love since the Reformation, how they promote the liberation of the individual in the Enlightenment, how they promote a new religion of nature and art, how they stimulate the nationalism of the 19th century and how to adopt new attitudes in the process of modern civilization with daring experiments. The specialist disciplines have distributed this common treasure among themselves and thus almost lost sight of it. The public lecture, however, has made it visible to those involved, always using the example and in a language accessible to all, which has been preserved in this book.

    In den zeitgenössischen slavischen Literaturen ist Gewalt allgegenwärtig – als Echo der Revolutionen, Kriege, Diktaturen und Systemumbrüche des 20. Jahrhunderts, als Reaktion auf andauernde und neu ausbrechende Konflikte, als Faszination, Sensation und Kaufanreiz. Gewalt erscheint als narrativ-ästhetischer, tradierter Bestandteil der literarischen Darstellung und als aussagekräftiges, tabubrechendes Motiv. Dieser Band trägt die Ergebnisse einer internationalen Konferenz an der Universität Hamburg zusammen, die sich im Herbst 2012 diesem Thema unter der Trias "Verbrechen – Fiktion - Vermarktung" gewidmet hat. Das breite Spektrum der untersuchten Literaturen (von ost- und west- über südslavische Literaturen, von Prosa über Lyrik und Dramatik) aber auch der Blick über die Literatur hinaus (unter anderem auf Film und Musik), die Vielfalt der Themen, Darstellungsweisen und analytischen Zugänge ergeben ein vielfältiges Bild, das eine Annäherung an die Frage nach den Spezifika literarischer Gewaltdarstellungen ermöglicht. ; Violence is omnipresent in contemporary Slavic literatures: in response to revolutions, wars, dictatorships and changes of regimes in the 20th century, and as a reaction to continuing and new conflicts, as fascination, sensation and sales appeal. Violence appears as a narrative-aesthetic, traditional part of literature and as a meaningful and taboo-breaking motif. In September 2012, an international conference at Hamburg University dealt with this topic entitled "Crime – Fiction – Commercialisation". This volume presents the results of this conference. The wide range of the analyzed literatures and genres (Eastern, Western and South Slavic literatures, prose, poetry and drama), the look beyond the borders of literature to film and music, the variety of topics, ways of representation and analytical approaches create a polyphonic picture that allows us to discuss the specific character of the presentation of violence in literature.
