    The father-son relationship has long been a cornerstone of psychoanalytic research. This article examines one such relationship, as present in Joseph Roth's novel "Zipper and His Father" ("Zipper und sein Vater", 1928), in the relevant historical and psycho-social context. Tracing a parallel between the fatherly figure of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor, Franz Joseph, and Arnold Zipper's father, as well as drawing upon the narrator's (and Roth's own) personal experience, the article presents an analysis of the importance of the fatherly figure and the devastating consequences of its absence. A relação pai-filho é uma das pedras angulares da pesquisa psicanalítica. Este artigo examina tal relação, assim como se apresenta no romance "Zipper und sein Vater" (1928, "Zipper e seu pai"), de Joseph Roth, em um contexto histórico e psicossocial relevante. Traçando um paralelo entre a figural paternal do Imperador Austro-Húngaro, Franz Joseph, e o pai de Arnold Zipper, e valendo-se da experiência pessoal do narrador (e do próprio Roth), o artigo apresenta uma análise da importância da figura e as consequências devastadoras de sua ausência.

    At the beginning of the second part of Goethe's "Elective Affinities" the narrator draws a parallel between life and the stroke of art in the poet in order to replace, in an epic poem, the protagonists for figures hitherto scarcely observed, thereby justifying the increasing importance of the architect in the sequence of the novel. This young artist links to his art a hope for permanence, for survival. Ottilie disagrees in the notes of her diary. She sees in the ruins of the churches and the wreckage of the gravestones not only proof of the transitoriness of this life, but also of the extinction of a second existence post mortem: "Time will not allow itself to be cheated of its rights over men or over monuments". ... No início da segunda parte das "Afinidades eletivas", de Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, o narrador traça um paralelo entre a vida e o artifício do poeta para substituir, na epopéia, os protagonistas por figuras até então pouco notadas, justificando assim a crescente importância do arquiteto na sequência da narrativa. Este jovem artista vincula à sua arte uma esperança de permanência, de sobrevida. Ottilie discordará em seus apontamentos de diário. Ela vê nas ruínas das igrejas e nos destroços das lápides não só uma prova da transitoriedade desta vida, mas também do apagamento de uma segunda existência post-mortem: "Assim como sobre os homens, também sobre os monumentos, o tempo não abdica de seu direito". ...

    At the beginning of the second part of Goethe's "Elective Affinities" the narrator draws a parallel between life and the stroke of art in the poet in order to replace, in an epic poem, the protagonists for figures hitherto scarcely observed, thereby justifying the increasing importance of the architect in the sequence of the novel. This young artist links to his art a hope for permanence, for survival. Ottilie disagrees in the notes of her diary. The present paper analyses the following aspects of the novel: 1) the development of the plot, 2) the structure, 3) the language, 4) the function of time, 5) the space of the city, 6) the narrator, 7) the characters. Alfred Döblin ist ein Theoretiker des Expressionismus und auch ein Theoretiker des epischen Romans. In seinem Roman "Berlin Alexanderplatz" zeigt er die theoretischen Forderungen seines Essays "Der Bau des epischen Werks" in der Praxis.     This article aims to reassess the question of intermediality in expressionism in regard to "From morn to midnight". Written between 1912 and 1915 by Georg Kaiser and published in 1916, the text has been staged in many theatres from 1917 on. In 1920 director Karl Heinz Martin undertook its transposition into film. The first part of this investigation examines the text in relation to theatrical traditions and possible adaptations of cinematic techniques. It then analyzes the scenic aspects of its staging in the context of the new visuality of expressionist theatre while the third part takes a closer look at the cinematic adaption in the context of the long lasting debate on expressionist cinema. ; O presente artigo objetiva reavaliar a questão intermedial do expressionismo referente à "Da aurora à meia-noite", obra destacada de Georg Kaiser. O texto, escrito entre 1912 e 1915, e publicado em 1916, foi encenado em inúmeros teatros a partir de 1917. Em 1920, o diretor Karl Heinz Martin realizou sua transposição para o medium fílmico. A primeira parte do presente estudo analisa a forma textual de "Da aurora à meia-noite" entre tradição teatral e possíveis adaptações de técnicas cinematográficas. A seguir, investiga-se o aspecto visual de sua encenação no âmbito da nova visualidade expressionista no teatro, enquanto que a terceira parte se ocupa do filme "Da aurora à meia-noite" no contexto da permanente discussão sobre o chamado cinema expressionista

    The objective of this text is to analyze the stranger's experience in the novel "Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge" by Rainer Maria Rilke through new interpretation perspectives based, for example, on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theories. Living in a foreign metropolis (Paris), which he does not identify with yet, the novel's protagonist, Malte Laurids Brigge, discovers a new inner world through his shock with stranger's experiences in this environment. The revelation of his childhood memories and his ego projection through readings of narratives by others are his methods to search and assert his identity. O objetivo deste texto é analisar a experiência do estranho no romance "Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge", de Rainer Maria Rilke, através de novas perspectivas de interpretação apoiadas, por exemplo, nas teorias psicanalíticas de Sigmund Freud. Vivendo em uma cidade estrangeira (Paris), com a qual ainda não se identifica, o protagonista do romance, Malte Laurids Brigge, descobre um mundo interior novo através de seu choque com experiências do estranho nesse milieu. A revelação de recordações de sua infância e a projeção de seu ego em leituras de narrativas alheias são seus métodos para buscar e afirmar sua identidade.

    The objective of this text is to analyze the stranger's experience in the novel "Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge" by Rainer Maria Rilke through new interpretation perspectives based, for example, on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theories. Living in a foreign metropolis (Paris), which he does not identify with yet, the novel's protagonist, Malte Laurids Brigge, discovers a new inner world through his shock with stranger's experiences in this environment. The revelation of his childhood memories and his ego projection through readings of narratives by others are his methods to search and assert his identity. O objetivo deste texto é analisar a experiência do estranho no romance "Die Aufzeichnungen des Malte Laurids Brigge", de Rainer Maria Rilke, através de novas perspectivas de interpretação apoiadas, por exemplo, nas teorias psicanalíticas de Sigmund Freud. Vivendo em uma cidade estrangeira (Paris), com a qual ainda não se identifica, o protagonista do romance, Malte Laurids Brigge, descobre um mundo interior novo através de seu choque com experiências do estranho nesse milieu. A revelação de recordações de sua infância e a projeção de seu ego em leituras de narrativas alheias são seus métodos para buscar e afirmar sua identidade.

    The author presents the concept of testimony in two different literary and theoretical backgrounds, namely the German and the Spanish-American. Testimonio and Zeugnis an not be mutually translated because the first is thought as a literary gender inside the literary tradition of mimesis/imitatio. Whereas the notion of Zeugnis was created in Germany on the grounds of Shoah literature, and was strongly impregnated by the psychoanalytical idea of trauma, and by the awareness of the simultaneous necessity and impossibility of the testimonial writing. ; Der Autor stellt den Zeugnisbegriff in zwei verschiedenen literarischen und theoretischen zusammenhängen vor, dem deutschen und dem hispanoamerikanischen. Testimonio und Zeugnis lassen sich nicht wechselseitig ineinander übersetzen, denn im ersten Fall handelt es sich um einen literarischen Gattungsbegriff innerhalb einer Vorstellung von Literatur als Mimesis/Nachahmung. Der Begriff Zeugnis wurde in Deutschland vor dem ausgehend von der Literatur zur Shoah entwickelt und ist stark geprägt von der psychoanalytischen Theorie des Traumas sowie von dem Bewusstsein, dass es gleichzeitig notwendig und unmöglich sei, Zeugnis abzulegen.
