Dealing with the basic question of truth in „children's theology“ this article argues for a more complex approach. It adopts fundamental theories of truths by asking about the correspondence, coherence, consensus, and practical effect of children's theology on three levels (theology of, with, and for children). The article takes criteria into consideration which can best be used to evaluate children's theology, with special attention to the methods of empirical research, sustainability of children's ideas, coherence within theological tradition, and reflection on concrete Christian faith and spiritual experience.
