Every thirty years, the planet Saturn returns to the same place in the universe. An enthralling time-bending structure based around this astronomical calendar allows 'Saturn Returns' to watch Gustin Novak over a period of sixty years in a series of deftly interwoven scenes. The play visits him at the ages of 28, 58 and 88, as he reaches a series of crossroads with three women, and comes to understand how the echoes of the past have defined the orbit of his life. Moving from wry humour to touching poignancy, Haidle's play unashamedly looks for answers to life's biggest questions. It opened in 2010 at the Finborough Theatre, London.

A young man has an affair with a married woman, but he is terrified her husband will challenge him to a duel and kill him. At a party, he flirts with a girl who believes she is truly loved. Life seems full of joy. The doorbell rings. The husband enters the room. Based on Schnitzler's play 'Liebelei', David Harrower's 'Sweet Nothings' captures the power of sexual longing, the cruelty of tradition and the vulnerability of those in love. His adaptation was first performed at the Young Vic Theatre, London, in March 2009.

"Gender, Collaboration, and Authorship in German Culture challenges a model of literary production that persists in literary studies: the so-called Geniekult or the idea of the solitary male author as genius that emerged around 1800 in German lands. A closer look at creative practices during this time indicates that collaborative creative endeavors, specifically joint ventures between women and men, were an important mode of literary production during this era. This volume surveys a variety of such collaborations and proves that male and female spheres of creation were not as distinct as has been previously thought. It demonstrates that the model of the male genius that dominated literary studies for centuries was not inevitable, that viable alternatives to it existed. Finally, it demands that we rethink definitions of an author and a literary work in ways that account for the complex modes of creation from which they arose."-- The Gottscheds : conjugal authorship as a disjointed venture / Margaretmary Daley -- A dynamic interplay : cooperation between Sophie von la Roche, Christoph Martin Wieland, and Goethe on their way to authorship / Monika Nenon -- "Collaborating with spirits" : Cagliostro, Elisa von der Recke, and the phantoms of Unmündigkeit / Michelle Stott James and Rob McFarland -- A freedom apart : feminine Bildung in Sophie Mereau's "Marie" and Amanda und Eduard / Tom Spencer and Jennifer Jenson -- Scenes from a marriage : Friedrich and Dorothea Schlegel, collaboration as symphilosophy and after / Adrian Daub -- Holy hermaphrodite : the collaboration between Caroline and Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué / Eleanor ter Horst -- Concepts of collaboration : Märchenomas, the woman writer, and the Brothers Grimm / Julie Koehler -- A meeting of minds? the dialogue between voices female and male in the poems of the West-Eastern Divan / Charlotte Lee -- The correspondence of Rahel Levin Varnhagen and Ludwig Robert : epistolary writing as a space for symphilosophieren / Laura Deiulio -- Reflexive authorship in Bettina Brentano-von Arnim's Die Günderode : narrative disunity, Hölderlin, and Günderrode / Karen R. A completely new and amusing approach to dating, utilizing wisdom inspired by Jane Austen's novels, from Sense and Sensibility to Pride and Prejudice and beyond, author Henderson creates an indispensable guide for navigating the all-too-mystifying dating scene. Harnessing the triumphs and pitfalls of Austen's classic characters, Henderson shows how qualities like honesty, self-awareness, and forthrightness win the right man--and still let you respect yourself in the morning. Includes insightful personality quizzes that reveal which Jane Austen character you--and your mate--most resemble. Full of wit and truly useful advice that has stood the test of time, this book will help readers overcome the nonsense and find the sense (and sensibility) to succeed in a lasting relationship.

"We found so much to say, to share, to learn.... For it wasn't just the Marquis de Sade profile and the sporty thighs-and-calves that seduced me. It was even more, perhaps, or certainly just as much, the speed at which you used to read, and still do."—Julia Kristeva"We're married, Julia and I, that's a fact, but we each have our own personalities, our own name, activities, and freedom. Love is the full recognition of the other in their otherness. If this other is very close to you, as in this case, it seems to me that what's at stake is harmony within difference. The difference between men and women is irreducible; there's no possibility of fusion."—Philippe SollersMarriage as a Fine Art is an enchanting series of exchanges in which Julia Kristeva and Philippe Sollers, married for fifty years, speak candidly about their love. Though they live separately, Kristeva and Sollers are fully committed to each other. Their bond is intellectual and psychological, passionate and mundane. They share everything when together, and lose themselves in their interests when apart. Their marriage is art, rich with history and meaning, idiosyncratic, and dynamic in its expression. Yet it is also as common as they come. Kristeva and Sollers have lived through the same challenges, peaks, and lulls as all married couples do. With humor and honesty, they elaborate on these moments, turning marriage's familiar aspects into exceptional examples of relating, struggling, transcending, and being. Marriage as a Fine Art is a rare chance to know these intellectuals—and marriage—more intimately

MARCH 2, 1947 marked the fiftieth anniversary of Mrs. Fiske's first presentation of Tess of the D'Urbervilles in the Fifth Avenue Theatre in New York. It seems to be particularly fitting at this time, therefore, to present the half-century's history of Tess of the D'Urbervilles on the stage together with the texts of significant dramatic versions
