This paper, a keynote lecture delivered at the Fellowship for Biblical Studies Conference, 30 September, 2021, reports on the author's pursuit over many decades of how Paul saw the connection between Christ's death and human salvation. It formulates twelve "theses" in this regard, stressing the significance of apocalyptic in Paul's theology and of the last judgment as background to his proclamation of the gospel. It also asserts the centrality of Paul's view of Christ in "Adamic" terms and the necessity of seeing the absolute continuity between Father and Son in assessing the soteriological function of Christ's death.
