ger: This study offers a critical re-reading of Heidegger's thought from the viewpoint of the relationship between the affective structure of the existence and two other fundamental components of the human being, which are understanding and language. The analysis of such approach to the world, which represents Heidegger's "Befindlichkeit" - a peculiar and self-sufficient source of experience in relation to the projecting comprehension - leads us to recognize the presence of a fundamental ontological dimension of the existence, here designated as "pathic" with reference to the Greek term "paschein". This dimension identifies the most original way of access to the phenomenal horizon and represents the "foundation" - meaning the condition of possibility - of the other main dimension of the existence, the hermeneutic one, constituted by all those structures, such as understanding, interpretation and language, which contribute to the articulation of our reality in a meaningful whole. This dissertation is based on the interpretation of the two masterpieces of Heidegger's work, "Being and Time" and the "Contributions to Philosophy", representing respectively the fundamental ontology and the thinking of "Ereignis". The investigation of these two essential phases of Heidegger's speculation gives us the possibility of establishing a personal way throughout Heidegger's entire production. Consequently, the study is divided into five chapters, and in particular, the second and the fourth - dedicated respectively to "Being and Time" and to the "Contributions to Philosophy" - are the two main pivots of the entire structure. Taking as guidelines the results of the analysis of the work published in 1927, with particular reference to the conceptual triad Befindlichkeit-Verstehen-Rede, the early period of Freiburg and the teaching period in Marburg are both examined in the first chapter. The third chapter deals with the two-year period of 1929-1930 focusing primarily on the pre-hermeneutic experiences of anxiety and deep boredom. Finally, the results achieved in the confrontation with "Being and Time" and the "Contributions" are applied as "hermeneutic keys" for the interpretation of the writings from 1930s to 1960s, where the affective origin of "Denken" and "Dichten" - as essential ways of saying-
