    Der Aufsatz untersucht, wie Konfliktakteure sich selbst (im Singular und Plural) in Beziehung zueinander und in Bezug aufeinander sozial verorten. Er zeigt, wie sie ihre Beziehung erleben und erfahren, und wie sich dabei die Figuration ihrer Beziehungen verändert. Dazu greift der Autor auf eine soziologisch kaum ausgearbeitete Perspektive zurück: Norbert Elias’ Überlegungen zu Personalpronomen. Er entwickelt diese Perspektive am Fallbeispiel eines gewaltsam eskalierenden Konflikts, der sich 2012 im ehemaligen Bonner Diplomatenstadtteil Bad Godesberg ereignete. Die Analyse fokussiert auf die Wechselseitigkeit pronominaler Bezugnahmen in der Interaktion, die Re-Figuration von Intergruppengrenzen und die sich daraus entspinnende Konfliktdynamik. Auf dieser Basis werden einige Grundlinien einer pronomensensiblen soziologischen Analyseperspektive angedeutet und Implikationen für die neuere Diversitäts-, Humandifferenzierungs- und Konfliktforschung umrissen. Abstract: This article examines how conflict actors socially situate themselves (in the singular and plural) in relation to one another and with respect to each other. It demonstrates how they experience their relationship and how the figuration of their relationships changes in the process. To this end, the author draws on a perspective that has hardly been worked out sociologically: Norbert Elias’ reflections on personal pronouns. He develops this perspective using the case study of a violently escalating conflict that took place in 2012 in the former diplomatic district of Bad Godesberg in Bonn. The analysis focuses on the reciprocity of pronominal references in the interaction, the re-figuration of intergroup boundaries and the resulting conflict dynamics. On this basis, the author indicates some fundamental lines of a pronominal-sensitive sociological analysis perspective and provides implications for recent diversity research, human differentiation research and conflict research.

    Feminist peace research is an emerging field of social sciences that is transdisciplinary, intersectional, and normative—as well as transnational. Although it draws from disciplines such as peace and conflict research (in and outside of international relations [IR]) as well as feminist security studies, it also differs from them in terms of research scope and research design. Consequently, it not only provides insights on what can be termed “spectacular” instances of violence or peace but also sharpens our analysis of the everydayness of reconciliatory measures and the mundaneness of both violence and peace. As a feminist endeavor, feminist peace research necessarily asks questions about unequal gender relations and power structures within any given conflict environment. In this collective discussion piece, a diverse group of scholars, who formed part of the recently convened Feminist Peace Research Network, explores and further develops the parameters of this emergent field through a set of short conversation pieces.

    China and Taiwan, as well as the US, have failed to adapt new practices in response to the paradigmatic changes in the sources and nature of the China-Taiwan conflict. Reflecting the tremendous political and social changes in Taiwan, China, and the world that have occurred during the past 10-15 years, the most prominent source of the China-Taiwan conflict has shifted from power to identity. This article discusses the change of social identity in Taiwan and the re-emergence of nativistic nationalism in the PRC identity. The authors suggest that policymakers on all three sides could begin to re-think the Taiwan issue by taking advantage of the ideas and methods pioneered by experts in the rapidly growing field of conflict analysis and resolution. In this article, the authors apply concepts related to identity used by practitioners in the field of conflict resolution to look at the deeper cultural issues of identity and suggest some more appropriate methods for intervention and resolution of this deeply rooted conflict.
