    Menander℗þs Kolax (The Flatterer) was very popular in the Ancient World and played a central role in the history of the parasite on the comic stage. This volume provides an edition and a translation of the fragments and testimonies. A dramaturgical commentary, chapters on the sources, on the number of parasites and on the date, as well as notes on terminological history form the basis for a reconstruction and interpretation of the comedy. A concordance and bibliography as well as two plates complete the volume.
