Set in a rundown roadside garage in South Armagh, 'Pumpgirl' consists of interwoven monologues from three characters: the tomboyish Pumpgirl, the benefits cheating man she fancies, and his long-suffering wife. Co-winner of the 2006-2007 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for best play written in English by a woman, it was first performed at Edinburgh's Traverse Theatre in August 2006.
