    The theme of the contributions is the centrality of culture, referring to the Dante metaphor of the sapiential banquet and of "culture as food." The interventions intend to stimulate the start of an interdisciplinary reflection on the humanities in their sense of complex field and creative practice. Starting from different disciplines - from philosophy to literature and anthropology - and through dialogue between literati of various backgrounds, a perspective is proposed that encourages the encounter between "high" and "low" and between elite culture and folkloric culture . The arc of interest ranges from the texts of ancient Indian literature, to the Grail of Chrétien de Troyes and to the philosophical formation offered to the public by Dante's Convivio; from the fascinating stratification of traditional knowledge in the Lunari, to the carnival folkloric practices and to the imagination of the Land of Cockaigne; and again from the use of food as belonging in the writings of Italian emigrants in America.

    This book addresses the issue of the potential economic significance of the artistic heritage in an art city – more specifically Florence – taking as a concrete example for the purpose of scientific research the figure of the “artistic restorer” in the dual garb of economic agent and environmental and cultural resource for the city. The empirical study of the private firms working in this sector located in the Florence area is accompanied and introduced by a broad analysis of the policies for protection and enhancement of the cultural assets, and of the economic, non-economic and institutional agents involved in the same. Il volume affronta il tema della possibile rilevanza economica del patrimonio artistico in una città d'arte, nello specifico Firenze, prendendo come esempio concreto ai fini di una ricerca scientifica la figura del "restauratore artistico" nella duplice veste di attore economico e di risorsa ambientale e culturale per la città. Lo studio empirico delle imprese private di tale settore localizzate nell'area fiorentina è accompagnato e introdotto da un'ampia analisi sulle politiche di tutela e valorizzazione dei beni culturali e sul sistema di attori economici, non economici ed istituzionali che in esse sono coinvolti.

    Le istituzioni femminili partenopee furono centri indiscutibili di cultura, fucine di mecenatismo, laboratori privilegiati di attività artistiche e di produzioni musicali e diedero un contributo incisivo alla vita culturale e artistica della Napoli vicereale. Monasteri e conservatori impiegarono nel corso dei secoli i musicisti più rappresentativi della città di Napoli a sostegno delle cerimonie liturgiche o per curare la formazione musicale delle religiose e delle figlie ospiti. Il presente studio si propone di indagare e ricostruire le attività musicali di questi enti attraverso lo studio della documentazione proveniente dai principali archivi presenti nella città di Napoli. Le fonti d'archivio permettono infatti di comprendere quale funzione avesse l'arte musicale nella vita dei chiostri. La ricerca intende inoltre considerare la realtà monastica femminile nel suo insieme, esaminando la presenza delle comunità religiose nella città e il loro ruolo all’interno delle dinamiche della vita urbana. L'indagine condotta restituisce oggi una visione attendibile del fenomeno sonoro nel quotidiano delle realtà claustrali, portandoci a comprendere quanto le comunità monastiche femminili contribuirono allo sviluppo di tradizioni musicali, spettacolari, liturgiche.

    "The text explores the phenomenon of violence, retracing the sociological theory from the classical paradigms to the frontier of interpretative readings outlined in the digital society age. The aim is to arrive at an interpretation on violence and the possible connections that go from traditional society, in the historiographic sense of action, to the challenges proposed by contemporary society. What is the form that violence takes today? Which are the indicators that allow you to recognize it? Following these reflections, this book raises the question about the social nature of violence in the many forms in which it manifests itself. The analysis that is proposed is therefore that of seeking the widespread dimensions within which the contemporary individual acts, as well as identifying the indicators that, through functional categories, can prevent and combat violence."

    ger: Diese Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Einsatz von Gedichten und Kurzgeschichten im Italienischunterricht, um Wortschatz zu vermitteln und die Lesekompetenz zu verbessern. Im theoretischen Teil dieser Arbeit wird auf den fremdsprachlichen Leseprozess und Wortschatzerwerb eingegangen und gezeigt, wie literarische Texte diese positiv beeinflussen können. Dabei werden, unter anderem, die Prozesse „top-down“ und „bottom-up“, die Schema Theorie, sowie verschiedene Lesestrategien und der Kreislauf des Lesens in der Fremdsprache besprochen. Außerdem werden wichtige Erkenntnisse im Bereich des fremdsprachlichen Wortschatzerwerbes aufgezeigt, die, unter anderem, das mentale Lexikon, das Lang- und Kurzzeitgedächtnis als auch das aktive und passive Vokabular betreffen, wobei stets die didaktischen Konsequenzen für den Italienischunterricht aufgezeigt werden.Der praktische Teil besteht aus fünf Stundenbildern für die Sprachniveaus A1, A2 und B1, die auf Kurzgeschichten und Gedichten von Gianni Rodari basieren. Diese, der Kinderliteratur zugehörigen Texte, sind authentisch, da sie für eine muttersprachliche Leserschaft verfasst wurden. Authentische Texte haben nicht die Fremdsprachendidaktik zum Ziel, sondern wollen unterhalten und motivieren Lernende aus diesem Grund zur fremdsprachlichen Lektüre. Da diese auch unbekannte sprachliche Strukturen enthalten, kann die Lesekompetenz gesteigert werden, da SchülerInnen erlernen mit diesen umzugehen und somit ihre Lesegeschwindigkeit und ihr Textverständnis verbessern. Die verwendeten Kurzgeschichten und Gedichte bieten außerdem einen reichen Kontext, durch welchen neue Wörter leichter gemerkt werden können und versorgen Lernende mit den für den Fremdsprachenerwerb notwendigen authentischen Modellen des Sprachgebrauchs. Die präsentierten Stundenbilder sollen zeigen, wie literarische Texte den Italienischunterricht bereichern können, um die Fremdsprache auf interessante und anregende Weise zu unterrichten. eng: This thesis deals with the use of poems and short stories in lessons of Italian as a foreign language in order to teach vocabulary and improve reading competence. The theoretical part discusses the reading process and vocabulary acquisition in a foreign language and shows how literary texts can have a positive influence on these aspects. For this purpose, the strategies of “top-down” and “bottom-up” processing, the schema theory as well as different reading strategies and the cycle of reading in a foreign language are explained. Furthermore, findings in the area of vocabulary acquisition concerning, amongst others, the mental lexicon, the short and long term memory and the active and passive vocabulary are reported. The impact the established data has on the actual teaching process is also discussed. In the practical part, five teaching units based on short stories and poems for the levels A1, A2 and B1 are presented. The literary texts, by Gianni Rodari, belong to the area of children literature and are authentic. They are, therefore, written for a native audience and do not aim at teaching the foreign language itself but at entertaining the reader, which is why students find reading them motivating and interesting. Furthermore, in reading literary texts, students improve their reading rate and their textual comprehension by learning how to deal with unknown linguistic structures. Additionally, the short stories and poems used in this thesis offer a rich context, which helps students to memorize new words and provides them with necessary authentic models of the foreign language. The teaching units presented in this thesis intend to show how literary texts can enrich Italian lessons and contribute to interesting and stimulating classes.

    Main description: The studies show the extent to which love poems/songs by well-known medieval authors display links with supra-individual discourse conventions of the age in which they materialized. Central reference is made to Old Occitan troubadour songs of the 12th and early 13th centuries and Old Italian texts from the 13th and 14th centuries (notably by Giacomo di Lentini, Dante, and Petrarch). The comparison traces the gradual emergence of a lyrical 'I' reflecting the knowledge of the age and thus in a position to inquire into its own role. At all points in this development, poetry is seen to engage vigorously with the central epistemes of the dominant discourse forms, notably theology and philosophy
