    Die vorliegende Studie untersucht auf der Grundlage interaktional-linguistischer Theorie und Methodologie Auswirkungen von Mehrsprachigkeit auf syntaktische und prosodische Strukturen in Alltagsgesprächen junger türkischstämmiger Frauen und Männer. Prosodische Phänomene stehen in der Sprachkontaktforschung nur selten im Fokus der Aufmerksamkeit; die Ergebnisse der Studie zeigen jedoch, dass Kategorien wie Rhythmus und Intonation eine wichtige Rolle als Substrateinflüsse spielen. Insbesondere bei der Analyse rhythmischer Muster, die eines der zentralen Merkmale des ethnischen Stils "Türkischdeutsch" darstellen, zeigt sich, dass einige prosodische und syntaktische Regeln des Deutschen flexibel gehandhabt werden, um Rhythmus zu konstituieren. Dies betrifft insbesondere Regeln zur Setzung von Wort- und Satzakzenten sowie Vollständigkeitsregeln von syntaktischen Phrasen. Allerdings bleibt es nicht bei einem einfachen Transfer sprachlicher Phänomene aus dem Türkischen: So werden die übernommenen Strukturen zum Teil verändert und in deutsche Strukturen integriert, und es entstehen neue, regelgeleitete Formen, die als Ressourcen für besondere Aufgaben im Gespräch fungieren

    Aging in speech production is a multidimensional process. Biological, cognitive, social, and communicative factors can change over time, stay relatively stable, or may even compensate for each other. In this longitudinal work, we focus on stability and change at the laryngeal and supralaryngeal levels in the discourse particle euh produced by 10 older French-speaking females at two times, 10 years apart. Recognizing the multiple discourse roles of euh, we divided out occurrences according to utterance position. We quantified the frequency of euh, and evaluated acoustic changes in formants, fundamental frequency, and voice quality across time and utterance position. Results showed that euh frequency was stable with age. The only acoustic measure that revealed an age effect was harmonics-to-noise ratio, showing less noise at older ages. Other measures mostly varied with utterance position, sometimes in interaction with age. Some voice quality changes could reflect laryngeal adjustments that provide for airflow conservation utterance-finally. The data suggest that aging effects may be evident in some prosodic positions (e.g., utterance-final position), but not others (utterance-initial position). Thus, it is essential to consider the interactions among these factors in future work and not assume that vocal aging is evident throughout the signal.

    Die Studie untersucht die Produktion und Perzeption von gesprochenem Standardenglisch im Sekundarschulkontext in Trinidad. Das zugrunde liegende Ziel besteht darin, einen Beitrag zur Frage zu leisten, ob und in welchem Ausmaß sich in Trinidad ein endonormativer Standard herausbildet. Soziophonetische Variation wurde in der Sprache von 100 Lehrkräften und fortgeschrittenen Schülerinnen und Schülern auf vokalischer, konsonantischer und prosodischer Ebene analysiert und die Einstellungen zu lokalen und nicht-lokalen Akzenten des Standardenglischen unter 485 Schülerinnen und Schülern untersucht. Die Ergebnisse zeigen vielfältige Tendenzen. Die Sprachproduktion zeigt klare und ausgeprägte endonormative Trends. Gleichzeitig zeichnet sie sich durch mehrdimensionale Normorientierungsprozesse aus, die lokale und nicht-lokale Kräfte integrieren. Die soziophonetischen Befunde lassen auch ein erhebliches Maß an systematischer Differenzierung erkennen. Die Sprachperzeption zeigt eine allgemeine Koexistenz verschiedener Standards des Englischen und keine klare Unterscheidung zwischen exo- und endonormativen Akzenten. Zusammenfassend liefert die Studie empirische Belege für Multinormativität in Produktion und Perzeption. ; The study investigates standard English speech production and perception in the secondary school context in Trinidad.
