Denis Newiak, studierte Europäische Medienwissenschaft in Potsdam und Filmwissenschaft an der Freien Universität Berlin, promoviert derzeit an der BTU Cottbus zu Ausdrucksformen von Einsamkeit in Film und Fernsehen und welche gemeinschaftsstiftenden Funktionen den Fernsehserien unter spätmodernen Lebensbedingungen zukommen. Weitere Forschungsschwerpunkte sind: Künstliche Intelligenz und virtuelle Sprachassistenten, Mars im Film, Musik im Science-Fiction-Film
