As a human community we are living through a time of profound questioning as we reconnect ourselves to the sacred sources of life, placing us as a thread woven into the fabric of life in which it is essential that we see ourselves in all our diversity, so we can move away from the cultural and religious hegemony imposed throughout the history of the colonisation of Abya YalaJ It would, therefore, be both healthy and healing if we were not to consider the Bible as the one and only word of God, so that we may fully recognise in other texts, words, fabrics, songs, memories, tales and dances, the richness of the many languages of the Mystery of Life; variously experienced, embedded and named by the peoples linked to its ancient past and which have allowed them to continue being and existing.

Though a "vision-centered" perspective is apparent in a variety of contexts in Greco-Roman life and literature, of particular interest to this essay are the visually oriented rhetorical techniques that Greco-Roman authors and orators used to appeal to the visual imaginations of their audiences. Through these well-theorized techniques, authors and orators hoped not only to engage their audiences' visual imaginations but also to transport them emotionally into the described scene. The author of the Epistle to the Hebrews was to all appearances well versed in these techniques, and perhaps this is nowhere more evident than in Heb 12:1-4. Enlisting the language and imagery of agonistic sport and spectacle, this visually evocative text helps the community reenvision their current situation. Their sufferings are thus reconfigured as normative to the athletic sphere, while their commitment to Christ and his community is translated into a test of endurance in a footrace. Integral to this agonistically shaped exhortation is the vivid portrayal of Jesus as the "forerunner" and victorious "finisher" of the same contest of faith in which the community is presently competing. Ekphrasis and epiphany coalesce in this mimetic portrayal, signaled by the author's exhortation to "fix our gaze" on the one who has triumphed over adversity and adversaries.

Literature as a form of expression for human thoughts and emotions is more or less, explicitly or implicitly revealing the circumstance of the particular age or its religious background of the authors. There are numerous great literature in the world, which have come to existence under deep affection of different religions. The discourse of 'theopoetics' in general and particularly in relationship with the interpretation of Scripture and theological reflection is still a very recent development of the intersection between esthetics and rationality. It puts theology in dialogue with all forms of aesthetics: art, literature, music etc. Theopoetics suggests that instead of traditional systematic theology that trying to perceive the nature of God through scientific theories, it is more accurate for theologians to talk about God through poetic articulation. Different approaches have been taken to engage theology and literature, It is however, most of these approaches are still taking literature as s subject foreign to theology. The principle of doing theology with Asian resources is in some degree to implicitly illustrate the theological conviction of many Asian theologians that 'Identity determines theological resources'. Cultural resources are generated through people's struggling with their surrounding world throughout their histories. Arts, poems and literature are thus, no longer considered as only an instrumental role to enhance Biblical hermeneutics and theological discourses, but are a step further being taken as resources of theology.

This article reviews current trends in ecological biblical hermeneutics and argues for a more expansive approach. As an alternative to the Earth Bible Project's "ecojustice principles," the Earth Charter is a cross-disciplinary and interreligious ethical framework for ecological biblical interpretation. We contend that ecological biblical hermeneutics may benefit from incorporating interdisciplinary insights and engaging with a variety of approaches and methodologies. As an example, we argue for ecolonialism, that is, an ecological approach that incorporates insights from postcolonial biblical hermeneutics. An ecolonial lens is applied to the The Kautokeino Rebellion (2008), a Norwegian movie about a Sami uprising in northern Norway in the 1850s. We show how the film's use of the Bible and biblical quotations brings out not only the colonial implications of the Norwegian state church and its minister but also the devastating effects of Norwegian colonization of the Sami population on ecological issues.
