    Die Ruderalvegetation - eine Pflanzenwelt, die sich in vom Menschen tiefgreifend veränderten, devastierten oder brach liegenden Räumen einstellt - hat in der Literatur des 20. Jahrhunderts Konjunktur. Auch in Erzählungen über den (post-)sozialistischen Raum wird das Unkraut als ein Motiv des magischen Realismus prominent inszeniert. Auf Schutt und Abraum, in zerstörten Fabrikarealen und leer geräumten Landschaften siedeln sich Ruderalvegetation und Literatur gleichermaßen an. Am Beispiel einschlägiger Texte von Erwin Strittmatter bis Andrzej Stasiuk zeigt Julia Kölling die Reaktion der Literatur auf die Veränderungen seit 1945 und entwirft dabei Grundzüge einer Poetik der Ruderalität.
