Although primarily concerned with the syllabus for this course,the site contains a lot of detailed historical background information such as a chronology of events and some additional materials such as summaries dealing with the development of the English language up to the Early Modern Period. A page concerned with the development of the English sonnet is included as well. Futhermore one can find some articles on the difference between modern and pre-modern society and thought.
