    The Regional Implementation Strategy for the Madrid International Plan of Action on Aging 2002 was adopted at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Ministerial Conference on Ageing held from 11 - 13 September 2002 in Berlin, Germany. The conference aimed at establishing a coherent system of policy measures to tackle the challenges of population aging. The Implementation strategy includes ten commitments that emphasize the importance of mainstreaming aging into various policy fields.--Publisher's description.
