    Im folgenden Beitrag wird die visionäre Kraft von Schöpfungstheologie herausgestellt und deren religionspädagogisches Potenzial erörtert. Damit geht dieser Ansatz über den vielfach angemahnten Auftrag des Menschen zur „Bewahrung der Schöpfung“ hinaus. Visionäre Schöpfungstheologie findet ihren Ausdruck nicht nur in Texten, sondern in vielfältigen ästhetischen Artefakten der christlichen Tradition. Diese können Ausgangspunkt für eine religiöse Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung (BNE) werden, die nach der visionären und kritisch-emanzipatorischen Kraft des Christentums zur Bewältigung der ökologischen Krise fragt. Mit den Chancen einer ästhetisch orientierten religiösen BNE gehen aber auch religionspädagogische Fallstricke einher, die ebenfalls reflektiert werden. Abstract: The following article highlights the visionary power of creation theology and discusses its potential for Religious Education. In this way, this approach goes beyond the frequently called upon human mission for “integrity of creation.” Visionary theology of creation finds its expression not only in texts, but also in diverse aesthetic artefacts of the Christian tradition. These can become the starting point for a Religious Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) that inquires about the visionary and critical-emancipatory power of Christianity to overcome the ecological crisis. However, an aesthetically oriented religious ESD is characterized not only by opportunities, but also by accompanying pitfalls relating to Religious Education, upon which the following paper seeks to reflect.

    This open access book argues that storytelling is an important resource in coming to terms with the loss of the feeling of living a grounded existence where the future remains relatively stable and predictable. Faced with the specter of climate catastrophe, we lose confidence in the future—a well-documented response in the environmental movement, for example. Yet stories, and in particular sophisticated fictional stories, can help us negotiate that uncertainty: they offer affective and imaginative tools that channel the instability of our climate future and invite audiences to accept its fundamental uncertainty. In all, this book represents a serious contribution to the environmental humanities that brings a flexible formal approach to bear on central questions of our time. Its commentary on contemporary works of prose and digital narrative is an aid for navigating climate uncertainty and appreciating the more-than-human scale—but also the tragic ramifications—of the ecological crisis.
