    "The human hand is the weapon José Clemente Orozco uses in his art work to create, destroy and transform reality", explains critic and researcher Ernesto Lumbreras. The loss of his left hand in 1904, in an accident with gunpowder, determined largely the emotional content of the artistic production of Jose Clement Orozco, a graphic element present in most of his canvas painting and murals. The compiled essays here, bring us, with the curiosity of a fable and the rigor of the data, to unravel the artistic passion of Jose Clemente Orozco (1883-1949) to draw and paint hands along his career. And in counterpoint to those visual recreations by the great one-handed muralist, missing his left hand since he was twenty years of age, this book-of miscellaneous layers and supporter of playful seduction- summons in its index a gallery of celebrations of the human hand, a wonder and a miracle of the anatomy, a source of language and thinking according to the studies of the most demanding linguists.     The book "En Busca de un Muro" (In Search of a Wall) takes as starting point José Clemente Orozco's stay in New York and his search for a mural. After his arrival to this city, the muralist accompanied the historian Alma Reed to a party in Eva Palmer's apartment at the seventh story of number 12 in 5th Avenue. At the party, Orozco met the peculiar group of intellectuals that composed the secret society "Delphic Circle" for the first time. The editorial project is an account of the ideological and personal connections that developed around the so-called Delphic Circle in New York, between 1927 and 1934, and the impact that various ideological movements, such as occultism, esotericism and Greek ideologies, had on the thinking and practice of diverse artists, anthropologists, journalists, architects and intellectuals. In addition to an extensive essay written by the curator and editor of the project, Rodrigo Ortiz Monasterio, the publication recovers texts of the time on the importance of the Oracle and the Fourth Dimension (in an essay by the architect Claude Bragdon), the journalistic expeditions of Alma Reed to Yucatan (originally published in The New York Times and presented as a facsimile) and her relationship with the then governor of Yucatan, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, narrated in a chronicle by the journalist H. Allen Smith

    "The human hand is the weapon José Clemente Orozco uses in his art work to create, destroy and transform reality", explains critic and researcher Ernesto Lumbreras. The loss of his left hand in 1904, in an accident with gunpowder, determined largely the emotional content of the artistic production of Jose Clement Orozco, a graphic element present in most of his canvas painting and murals. The compiled essays here, bring us, with the curiosity of a fable and the rigor of the data, to unravel the artistic passion of Jose Clemente Orozco (1883-1949) to draw and paint hands along his career.
