Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler wie wie Annegret Huber, Robert Adelson, Jacqueline Letzter, Florian Heesch, Christine Siegert, Stefan Horlacher, Susan Fast u.a. zeigen, dass eine kulturwissenschaftlich orientierte Musikgeschichte im 21. Jahrhundert farbenreiche Geschichten von Männern und Frauen, von Fremdem und Eigenem, von Popmusik und Oper, von Neuem und Altem, von Komponis­tinnen und Komponisten bereit hält. Es ist an der Zeit, eine andere Musik­geschichte und Musikgeschichte anders zu erzählen. Angaben zur beteiligten Person Heesch: Florian Heesch vertritt die Professur für Historische Musikwissenschaft am Forschungszentrum Musik und Gender der Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover. Angaben zur beteiligten Person Rode-Breymann: Susanne Rode-Breymann, Musikwissenschaftlerin und seit 2010 Präsidentin der Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover, studierte in Hamburg Alte Musik sowie Musikwissenschaft, Kunstgeschichte und Literaturwissenschaft. Sie war wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an den Universitäten Bayreuth und Bonn und erhielt Forschungsstipendien von der Paul Sacher Stiftung Basel sowie dem Österreichischen Fonds für wissenschaftliche Forschung. Nach der Habilitation 1996 lehrte sie in Hannover, dann 1999 bis 2004 als Ordinaria für Historische Musikwissenschaft an der Hochschule für Musik Köln. In gleicher Funktion wechselte sie 2004 an die Hochschule in Hannover und gründete dort 2006 das Forschungszentrum Musik und Gender. Sie hat über Alte Musik, Neue Musik, Gender Studies und Musiktheater publiziert, ist (Mit-)Herausgeberin verschiedener Jahrbücher und Reihen und Fachherausgeberin Musik der Enzyklopädie der Neuzeit. 2010 kam ihr Buch Musiktheater eines Kaiserpaars. Wien 1677 bis 1705 heraus. Angaben zur beteiligten Person Kutschke: Beate Kutschke ist promovierte Musikwissenschaftlerin und als künstlerisch-wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Universität der Künste Berlin tätig. Angaben zur beteiligten Person Schleuning: Peter Schleuning ist Professor am Institut für Musik der Universität Oldenburg Angaben zur beteiligten Person Kreutziger-Herr: Annette Kreutziger-Herr ist Professorin für Musik- und Kulturwissenschaft an der Hochschule für Musik Köln. Angaben zur beteiligten Person Fürst: Marion Fürst, geboren 1962 in Grünstadt, studierte Musikwissenschaft, Germanistik und Ethnologie in Frankfurt, Göttingen und Hamburg. 1998 Dissertation zum Thema Hans Werner Henzes Tristan. Nach dem Studium u.a. war sie als Pressereferentin für einen Musikverlag und Konzertchor sowie als freiberufliche Rundfunkjournalistin für den Schul- und Bildungsfunk des Norddeutschen Rundfunk tätig. Zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen zum Werk Henzes. Weitere Forschungsschwerpunkte: Komponistinnen, Musik des 20. Jh., Rezeptionsgeschichte und Weihnachtsmusik. Zur Zeit arbeitet sie als Dozentin an der Universität Koblenz-Landau, als Referentin in der Erwachsenenbildung für die Abendakademie Mannheim und im Nebenberuf als Kirchenmusikerin. Angaben zur beteiligten Person Losleben: Katrin Losleben ist Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Hochschule für Musik Köln.
