    Forschungsgegenstand der Wirtschaftsphilosophie sind die Praxen der Wirtschaft und die Theorien, die sich mit Wirtschaft beschäftigen. Wir haben dieses Forschungsfeld mit verschiedenen Varianten einer Vier-Felder-Matrix aufgefächert, um deutlich zu machen, dass sowohl die Theoretische Philosophie als auch die Praktische Philosophie sich auf eine interessante und sogar gesellschaftlich relevante Weise mit der Wirtschaft und den „Wirtschafts-Wissenschaften“ zu beschäftigen vermögen. Wirtschaftsphilosophie, wie wir sie verstehen, dient der reflektierten Relationierung von Theorie und Praxis. Sie kann wertvolle – buchstäblich: wertschöpfende – Anregungen geben, festgefahrene Routinen zu hinterfragen, etwaige Fehlentwicklungen zu entdecken und – dies vor allem! – neue Möglichkeitenräume zu erschließen. Wir verstehen Wirtschaftsphilosophie als denkerische (Selbst-)Aufmunterung zur wirtschaft(swissenschaft)lichen (Selbst-)Aufklärung. The objects of research in economic philosophy are the practices of business and the theories that deal with business. We have fanned out this field of research with different variants of a four-field matrix in order to clarify that both theoretical philosophy and practical philosophy are able to deal with business and business theories in an interesting and even societally relevant way. Economic philosophy, as we understand it, serves the reflective relationship between theory and practice. It can provide valuable – literally: value-adding – suggestions to question entrenched routines, to discover any undesirable developments and – above all! – to open up new spaces of opportunity. We understand economic philosophy as intellectual (self-)encouragement for the (self-)enlightenment of business practice and business theories.
