    Damit Grundschulkinder mit vielfältigen Bildungsvoraussetzungen, Identitäten und Lebenshintergründen in ihrer Schreibkompetenz optimal gefördert werden, ist der didaktisch-analytische Blick auf die Textprodukte der Kinder und ihre Schreibentwicklung nötig. „Unkoventionalität in Lernertexten“ profiliert diesen didaktisch-analytischen Zugriff auf Lernertexte und greift in den Diskurs über den Umgang mit Divergenz und Mehrdeutigkeit ein. Die Normativität des Schreibens und Textverfassens als eines Blicks ‚von oben‘ wird ins Verhältnis gesetzt zum Blick ‚von unten‘, der die variantenreiche Textproduktion der Kinder thematisiert. Die Beiträge des Bandes vereinen Untersuchungen zum ästhetischen Potenzial von Schreibprozessen und Studien zur Textproduktion von mehrsprachigen Kindern mit dem Ziel, das Lernpotenzial von Divergenz und Mehrdeutigkeit theoretisch, empirisch und in der didaktischen Praxis auszuleuchten. Damit werden Forschungsergebnisse und Konzeptionen zu einem zentralen Feld des Deutschunterrichts an der Grundschule der interessierten Öffentlichkeit zur Verfügung gestellt. Der Band fokussiert Ansätze einer umfassenden sprachlich-literalen Bildung auf dem Gebiet der Schreibdidaktik. Er thematisiert das Deutsche als literale und literarisch geprägte Bildungs- und Schulsprache und als Migrantensprache. Es geht u. a. um erfahrungsbedingte Sprachlichkeit und Literalität als Voraussetzung für die Entwicklung literaler Textualität und damit um Rahmenbedingungen und Modelle des Umgangs mit sprachlicher Heterogenität im Schreibunterricht der Sch

    "Activist and radical left politics in Britain have long been concerned with issues of race. It is not until the 1960s, when the British population began seeing an increased populace of British-born children from Black and Asian backgrounds, that a significant number of writers began addressing children of colour about activist and radical ideas. Exploring some of the activists producing work from the late 1960s onwards and how and why they wrote and published for children, this text examines the space given to people of colour by white activists; the voice agency and intersectionality in activist writing for young people; how writers used activism to expand definitions of Britishness for child readers; and finally, how activism and writing about it has changed in the 21st century. From communist and feminist activists concerned with broader children's rights, such as Chris Searles and Rosemary Stones, to Black Panthers and contemporary advocates for people of colour from Farrukh Dhondy to Floella Benjamin, Benjamin Zephaniah to Liv Little, Karen Sands-O'Connor traces how these radicals translated their values for children of colour. Beginning with the incidents that sparked activism and the first cultural products for children up to the mainstream presses publishing figures such as the grime artist Stormzy, this book analyses the choices, struggles and successes of writers of activist literature as they tried to change Britain and British literature to make it a welcoming place for all child readers."--

These are hard words for Vivian Paley, whose own kindergarten was one of Sonya's schools, the integrated classroom so lovingly and hopefully depicted by Paley in White Teacher. Confronted with the grown-up Sonya, now on her way to a black college, and with a chorus of voices questioning the fairness and effectiveness of integrated education, Paley sets out to discover the truth about the multicultural classroom from those who participate in it This is an odyssey undertaken on the wings of conversation and storytelling in which every voice adds new meaning to the idea of belonging, really belonging, to a school culture. Here are black teachers and minority parents, immigrant families, a Native American educator, and the children themselves, whose stories mingle with the author's to create a candid picture of the successes and failures of the integrated classroom. As Paley travels the country listening to these stories, we see what lies behind recent moves toward self-segregation: an ongoing frustration with racism as well as an abiding need for a nurturing community.
