    Why do we organize architecture exhibitions? What do we exhibit when we show architecture? What are the aspects related to the built realm that are worth exhibiting and how is the space of an architecture show organised in order to generate communication? What are some relevant examples of architecture exhibitions which enact practices that take a distance from the conventional form of the show and provide the public with a different way of engaging with the issues of the exhibition? Is the architecture exhibition merely the presentation of substitutes for buildings that cannot be moved or can it be something more? This volume is the result of a study on the architecture exhibition carried out at the Faculty of Design and Art of the Free University of Bozen Bolzano. Its aim is to make a contribution to the present debate both by laying the foundation for mapping contemporary architecture exhibition practices and by attempting to identify the cultural and communication contexts in which they are positioned. The book collects the contributions of theorists, curators and professionals involved in the different phases of an exhibition (starting from the design and including the critical evaluation of its role within the cultural landscape). The focus is on the ways an architecture exhibition is able to display space, comment on an architectural idea an generate knowledge through its project. With texts by Giovanni Borasi, Anne Holtrop, Wilfried Kühn, Emanuela De Cecco, Something Fantastic, Ilka & Andreas Ruby, Andres Lepik, Tina di Carlo and two interviews with Kersten Geers (OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen) and Maarten Gielen (ROTOR).
