Ibycus is a crucial figure in the world of archaic poetry, whose work has not received the attention it deserves. This commentary brings together his most important fragments, together with some less well-known pieces which give insight to his content and style. It provides an introduction to Ibycus' life and poetry, an individual analysis of each fragment and a detailed commentary on the text, with a new edition of the papyrus fragments. This study thus includes both the minutiae of textual criticism and the broader literary/historical concerns of Ibycus' work. Claire Wilkinson, The Cheltenham Ladies' College, UK.
