After much effort, Didier Verriest was given permission to photograph the interiors of several important federal buildings in Brussels. These include Belgian monuments which we, as citizens or tourists, are often only able to observe from the outside. In this book, with an introduction by Joannes Késenne, Verriest takes us on his journey, giving us a free tour of these particularly mysterious and unknown sites of Belgian heritage. As an art photographer, he immortalises his impression with a distinct eye for detail, light and the timeless. As a result, contradictions are cast aside: the impersonal becomes personal, the temporary becomes eternal and what is concealed becomes revealed
