This study discussed the social conflicts that occur in the novel Animal Farm written by George Orwell. In this novel, Orwel described the story of an animal farm, where animals have long lived under human tyranny. These animals will rebel against human groups so they can rule over themselves. Therefore, the researcher entitled this research with “Social conflict as seen in Animal Farm novel by George Orwell”. The social conflict is the phenomenon that most often arises because conflict sosial is inherent, that meaning is social conflict will always exist in every space and time. The aims of this research are 1). To find out the description of the social conflict that occurs in the novel Animal Farm, 2). To find out the causes of social conflict in the Animal Farm novel, and 3). To find out the impact of social conflict in the novel Animal Farm. The design in this research is descriptive qualitative. To analyze the theoretical data used is the theory of social conflict by Fink (2021), types of social conflict by Setiadi & Kolip (2011), Causes of social conflict by Turner (2011) and finally the impact of social conflict by Setiadi & Kolip (2011) as a reference to answer the formulation of the problem. The approach used in this research is Sociology. The data collection technique used in this research is documentation and analysis uses descriptive techniques. The results of this study are: 1). The four types of Sosial conflicts that occur in this Animal Farm novel are; Intergroup Conflict, Interest Conflict, Interpersonal Conflict, Conflict between social classes. 2). The four causes of social conflict that occur in the Anima Farm novel are; Inequality in the distribution of very limited resources in society, There is a view that conflict is a way to realize interests and Lower class groups accept radical ideology. 3). Three impacts of social conflict that occur in the Animal Farm novel are; The strengthening of group solidarity, the destruction of group unity, the destruction of social values and norms, ...
