    לא אראה לך" הוא ניסיון נועז לטעת קריאה תרבותית בקריאת הספרות היהודית במאה העשרים. מבעד ליצירה הקאנונית של קפקא, עגנון ופאול צלאן, וכן קריאה בשירה ישראלית מזרחית ובשירה עכשווית, הספר כורך את תורת הספרות והקריאה הפרשנית בניסיונות התרבותיים המהותיים למאה העשרים, בין האנטישמיות לפוסט-קולוניאליזם. בספרו האחרון הציג ההיסטוריון דומיניק לה קפרה את האופן שבו קול המספר ברומן של המאה התשע-עשרה והעשרים הגיע לקריסה המשקפת את הניסיון הטראומטי המודרני. הספר בוחן כיצד שני המספרים היהודים הגדולים במאה העשרים, קפקא ועגנון, התמודדו ברומנים המאוחרים שלהם (שפורסמו לאחר מותם) - הטירה (1926) ושירה (1971) - עם הניסיון היהודי הפוליטי של החצי הראשון של המאה העשרים: כיצד קול המספר שלהם אינו מאפשר את ייצוג האדם וקורס להשתברויות של קולות שונים ומפוררים, המפגינים עדות לקטסטרופה ואף לפעמים, עדות להעדר עצמו. בלב הספר קריאה תרבותית וביקורתית, קווירית ומזרחית, בסיפורת של גדול המספרים בלשון העברית, ש"י עגנון, ובייחוד בשתיים מהתמודדויותיו המובהקות עם היישוב היהודי הלאומי בארץ ישראל, ברומנים תמול שלשום (1945) ושירה. שאלותיו התיאורטיות של החיבור, העוסקות בכינון האדם הריבוני באמצעות הלשון דווקא מתוך ניסיונו הטראומטי (העדותי)

    "In his book History, Literature, Critical Theory (2013), the historian Dominique La Capra presented the ways in which the voice of the narrator in the 19th and 20th century novel came to a collapse, which reflects the modern traumatic experience. This study employs this theoretical prism in order to construct a cultural dimension of 20th century Jewish poetics - a dimension in which trauma is reflected in its linguistic representation, but also shapes this same representation.
