    Main description: Die "Legenda aurea", die Jacobus de Voragine zwischen 1260 und 1270 in lateinischer Sprache zusammenstellte, ist die im Mittelalter am weitesten verbreitete Sammlung von Heiligenlegenden. Unter den zahllosen volkssprachlichen Fassungen finden sich auch drei altokzitanische Versionen, die in engem Zusammenhang mit der katalanischen "Legenda-aurea"-Überlieferung stehen. Die hier erstmals edierte altokzitanische Version B, eine Auswahl von 102 Kapiteln des Originalkorpus mit vier Erweiterungskapiteln, beruht auf verschiedenen okzitanischen bzw. katalanischen Übersetzungen aus dem Lateinischen. Im Vordergrund der sprachlichen Auswertung steht der Wortschatz der edierten Texte, der vollständig im Glossar erfaßt ist. Neu belegte Formen und Bedeutungen sind gesondert kommentiert und erweitern die Materialbasis der altokzitanischen Lexikographie

    Main description: The "Legenda aurea", compiled in Latin by Jacobus de Voragine between 1260 and 1270, is the most widely disseminated collection of saints' legends in the Middle Ages. Among the countless vernacular reworkings there are three in Old Occitan which are closely bound up with the Catalan line of "Legenda aurea" adaptations. The Old Occitan Version B edited here for the first time represents a selection of 102 chapters from the original corpus with four additional chapters and is based on various Occitan and Catalan translations from the Latin. The linguistic commentary concentrates on the vocabulary of the texts edited and also presents it in a complete glossary. Newly attested forms and meanings are provided with commentaries of their own and represent a significant addition to the material available to Old Occitan lexicography
