Digital innovation processes driven by knowledge leadership. 5.6. Creating knowledge leadership for digital innovation: the eBMS experiment. 5.7. Conclusions. This book presents: the results of an empirical analysis of the new phenomenon of virtual clusters (VCs), which highlight the dynamics of these emerging innovation networks in the digital economy and the challenges that this dynamics represents for the conventional theories, which are unable to define a comprehensive framework that supports the development of these networks; an overview of the most significant theoretical approaches to innovation networks, and their rethinking in the digital economy scenario. Following a neo-Schumpeterian approach, a particular focus is on the opportunity to integrate the economic benefits coming from the geographical proximity, with the advantages related to the "organizational proximity" allowed by the ICT networks; the constituent points of a strategy aimed at sustaining the developing processes of a VC in a drawback region, and a description of the e-Salento project, an application of this strategy to an Italian drawback region, the Salento. Some general implications of the project for theory and practice are also discussed; and the architecture and the master plan of two initiatives within the e-Salento project, concerning the agribusiness and tourism sectors. A model of leadership, to guide innovation in an organisation competing in the digital economy, including both firms and regions. The perspective advanced in this work addresses issues concerned with VC growth and regions' economic development processes that are common to both the regional studies and the innovation management literature; the text represents an important empirically grounded contribution to them. Furthermore, several scholars argue that new development models are emerging for firms and regions. There is a lack of published work that provides empirical grounding and/or analytical models of firms' and regions' development processes in the Net Economy

Complex procedures of textual production are identified: among which entire sequences as well as the "evenemential" level of narrative fade away in favor of its cognitive dimension. This semiotic investigation is accompanied by a challenge to certain conventions of literary criticism: dialogue, the locus

In this book, John Hunt and Chris Loftus take you through the core technologies that make up the Enterprise Edition of the Java 2 platform (J2EE). They cover all the aspects of J2EE that both professionals and students need to know to build multi-tier enterprise applications in Java - the technologies, the design methodology and design patterns. Whether you are a professional or student, this book will help equip you with the skills you need to build enterprise wide applications in Java. Key Topics Includes design issues using J2EE patterns Covers all parts of the enterprise application J2EE Uses an integrated example that spans the chapters to be built up by the reader More accessible and less daunting than a lot of the competition A coherent whole, rather than independent separate chapters (as with some rivals) Features and Benefits Provides an overview of J2EE technologies and their benefits. Discusses architectural design issues using J2EE patterns. Looks at the issues of designing and building multi-tier J2EE applications. Includes fully worked examples, built up throughout the book, which enable you to quickly develop your own multi-tier applications. About the Authors: Dr. John Hunt is Technical Director at JayDeeTechnology Ltd. He runs industrial courses, including server-side Java technologies. He also leads development projects for government and blue chip organisations using Java, J2EE, XML and C#. Chris Loftus is a Teaching Fellow at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. He has taught Java-based courses, including J2EE, both in university and industry

The study takes a new approach to the phenomenon of narrated action in literary texts. It begins with a survey of philosophical approaches to the concept of action. In the second part, the combinatory model of action proposed is put into practice in the context of a computer-aided investigation of the action constructs logically implied by narrative texts. The third part presents a case study of Goethe's "Unterhaltungen deutscher Ausgewanderten".
