More than any other institution, school has an influence on the subjectivation of children and young people. Language functions here as a category of difference, through which groups are formed, recognitions and affiliations are negotiated, and subject positions are offered as identity templates. Using Interpretative Analysis of Subjectivation, the author examines what knowledge is conveyed in the educational discourse about language(s) and speakers and how students deal with this knowledge.

This study attempts to critically re-examine certain key hermeneutical concerns of a representative group of African biblical and religious studies scholars, who ground African theological reflection on traditional African values, cultures and social realities. Most of the scholars examined are united by a focus on the past and by an attempt to interpret the present and future on the basis of it. The article critiques the backward-looking hermeneutic implicit in the work of the scholars, especially Jesse Mugambi’s backward-looking metaphor of reconstruction. It proposes a hermeneutic based on the metaphor of liberation, as employed, for example, by African women theologians or by Gerald West or Emmanuel Katongole, who focus on building the present and future on the basis of a new liberative transformative narrative and praxis that prioritises the sacredness and inviolability of human life in the context of the web of life, and in particular foregrounds the dignity of African lives, as well as all others. Intradisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary implications: The article engages exposition and understanding of biblical texts by African scholars. Aspects of NT Christology or Ecclesiology are connected to theologies of traditional African socio-cultural realities. The relevance for an African theology of liberation and African theology of women is defended as necessitated by a new liberative transformative hermeneutic.

More than any other institution, school has an influence on the subjectivation of children and young people. Language functions here as a category of difference, through which groups are formed, recognitions and affiliations are negotiated, and subject positions are offered as identity templates.

Giuliano and Nunn (2021), GN henceforth, provide econometric evidence that ancestral climatic variability is negatively associated with the current importance of tradition using a variety of data sources. This replication focuses on the results that use individual-level data and identifies major discrepancies between several econometric specifications described in the article and their corresponding code. We are able to correct most of these mistakes by realigning the code with the text. Once corrections are implemented, we obtain almost invariably a smaller and non-significant coefficient for climatic variability.

The article aims to study the problem of the peculiarities of the communicative functions of interrogative sentences. The relevance of the problem is connected with the rich pragmatic fullness of these linguistic units. The issue of communicative functions of interrogative sentences was considered from the theory of speech acts, in which they are realized. Thus, examples of interrogatives were analyzed in representative, directive, commission, and expressive speech acts based on dialogues from the sitcom “Big Bang Theory”. Determining the quantitative ratio of interrogatives in the composition of different types of speech acts and comparing these statistics with the results of another study allowed the authors to decide the most productive types. The prospect of further research is a more in-depth study of the pragmatics of interrogative sentences, as well as interdisciplinary research.

The article deals with the interactive relationship between common vocabulary and medical terminology. In recent years, medical terminology, against the background of current global events, has actively begun to move into the common language. With this fact in mind, the study attempts to justify this process from a theoretical point of view. Descriptive-comparative and empirical methods of scientific analysis have been used in the research. It is shown that words become terms in the context of accelerating scientific and technological progress. In recent years, medical terms have been increasingly used in children's literature, resulting in a unique environment for their transition into the common vocabulary.
