    "Es existieren mittlerweile zahlreiche empirische Untersuchungen zum Gesprächsverhalten von Männern und Frauen. Und doch ist es keinesfalls gelungen, pauschal ein grundsätzlich unterschiedliches geschlechtsspezifisches Gesprächsverhalten nachzuweisen. Auch wurde in diesem Zusammenhang vielfach die Gesprächswahrnehmung der Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer vernachlässigt. An diesen Punkten setzt die vorliegende Masterarbeit an und ergründet in einer empirischen Studie die Fragestellungen, ob und inwieweit „Geschlecht“ innerhalb einer konkreten Interaktionssituation ausschlaggebend ist, inwieweit es im Gespräch konstruiert wird und Geschlechterdifferenzen aktiviert werden. Ebenfalls wird der Frage nachgegangen, inwieweit die Wahrnehmung und Beurteilung von Situation und Gesprächspartnern durch das eigene Geschlecht und das der Gesprächspartner beeinflusst und von einer stereotypen Geschlechtervorstellung gesteuert wird. Die theoretische Grundlage der Arbeit bildet der Ansatz des „Doing Gender“. Daraus abgeleitet, werden - die aktive und interaktive Herstellung von „Geschlecht“ und - die (eingefärbte) Wahrnehmung bezogen auf konkrete Interaktionssituationen untersucht. Das Vorgehen bei der Datenerhebung und Datenauswertung bildet dabei die Schnittstelle von Sprach- und Kommunikationswissenschaft. Mithilfe der „interaktiven Verfahren“ von Brinker und Sager werden anhand dreier gemischtgeschlechtlicher Kleingruppengespräche innerhalb des „lokalen und regionalen Managements“ die kommunikativen Praktiken, welche „Doing Gender“ deutlich machen, analysiert. Darüber hinaus wird die individuelle Gesprächswahrnehmung und -beurteilung ermittelt. Grundlage hierfür sind im Anschluss an die Gruppendiskussionen einzeln geführte Leitfadeninterviews, die mit der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring ausgewertet werden. Ein Vergleich zwischen den in den Leitfadeninterviews gegebenen Einschätzungen und dem transkribierten Geschehen innerhalb der Gruppendiskussionen rundet die Analyse ab.     A (re-)turn to ethics, which began in the 1980s and 1990s and is still predominant today, has been ascribed to literary studies and theory. I discuss theoretical issues within ethics based on the examples of literary analyses against this cultural background. The authors examined are Margaret Atwood, Jeffrey Eugenides, and Robert M. Pirsig. The main questions concern the foundation on which ethical concepts are based, and the way in which such concepts function. These topics are evidently connected to matters of human concepts and human nature in general. Such concepts are understood to be fundamentally communicative in the following. Communication should encompass the whole communicative act as a way of understanding, perceiving, feeling, and living. Contrary to popular conclusions of relativity, the need for a realist foundation of ethics – understood as implying universal validity – will be revealed. It is not only possible, but also necessary to develop such an idea of ethics within a postmodern relativist framework. I will thus argue for a communicative foundationalist ethics. With regard to literature an increasing emergence of first-person narrative can be witnessed in addition to a new focus on a realist and more mimetic style after a peak of pluralist conceptions at the end of the twentieth and the beginning of the twenty-first centuries. The analysis of such narrative situations will reveal the significance of the narrative generation of individual personalities for an understanding of ethical questions. The conflict between relativist and realist points of view centers on the postmodern critique of the individual. The study of the literary generation of individuals will elucidate means of confronting this critique. Such research concerns the question how literature and theory are relevant to the ethical matters of human life. James Phelan has developed a concept of ethics as rhetoric based on the work of Wayne C. Booth, Adam Zachary Newton, Gérard Genette, and Mikhail Bakhtin. Following Phelan, I understand narratives to be instances of human communication, which is organized narratively. I am therefore seeking communicative moral foundations for a narrative ethical concept that underlies moral actions. The theoretical background includes the poststructuralist and communicative concepts of Judith Butler and Seyla Benhabib as well as Ernst Tugendhat's analytical approach. ; Viele Theoretiker haben in der späten Postmoderne zur Ethik als zentrales Forschungsfeld (zurück)gefunden. Auch im soziohistorischen Umfeld als Ganzem haben moralische Sachverhalte eine signifikante Renaissance erlebt. Ein Blick auf die Entwicklung des heutigen kulturellen Terrains zeigt eine sehr starke Fokussierung auf ethische Fragen (durch die Bildung von Organisationen, das Auftreten moralischer Fragen im öffentlichen Diskurs, etc.). Zudem ist eine verstärkte Hinwendung zu Religion und alternativen Sinnfindungsmethoden in den westlichen Gesellschaften zu beobachten. In der gesamten kulturellen Produktion und deren kritischer Bearbeitung ist Immanuel Kants berühmte Frage 'Was soll ich tun?' wieder en vogue. Literaturkritiker sprechen z.B. von einer moralischen Wende der Postmoderne, die in neuerer Zeit generell als 'ethical turn' in den Geisteswissenschaften bezeichnet wird. Man darf vielleicht sogar behaupten, dass Ethik das herausragende theoretische Thema der späten Postmoderne ist. Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich basierend auf einigen detaillierten Literaturuntersuchungen mit theoretischen Fragen zur Moral. Analysiert werden Werke von Margaret Atwood, Jeffrey Eugenides und Robert M. Pirasig. Die Fragen nach den Grundlagen oder Begründungen von Ethik und nach der Funktionsweise ethischer Konzepte sind dabei zentral. Gleichzeitig sind damit die Funktionsweise des Verstandes und die menschliche Natur generell angesprochen. Beide werden als fundamental kommunikativ definiert, wobei die Kommunikation jede Handlung zur Verständigung, zum Verstehen, Fühlen und auch zur Wahrnehmung umfasst. Die damit heraufbeschworene kommunikative und soziale Natur des Menschen wird also in ihrer Konstitution und Funktionsweise untersucht. Dabei entwerfe ich das Konzept einer kommunikativ letztbegründeten Ethik, die sowohl die relativistischen als auch die realistischen Tendenzen der Postmoderne zu verbinden sucht und universalistische Elemente enthält. Dabei muss unterstrichen werden, dass es sich um eine Letztbegründung innerhalb eines relativistischen Rahmens handelt, die Struktur der Argumentation allerdings an traditionelle Varianten dieser Art erinnert. Zentrale Denker sind Judith Butler und Seyla Benhabib, auch Ernst Tugendhats Arbeiten zur Ethik spielen eine größere Rolle.

    Der Diktator Benito Mussolini suchte die Zustimmung und den Beifall der Italienerinnen und Italiener. Seine Rhetorik war aber weniger die eines Manipulators als die eines profunden Kenners der Sehnsüchte und Wünsche seiner Zeit.In der Nachkriegszeit setzte sich das Narrativ durch, dass die italienische Bevölkerung seiner verdeckten Manipulation hilflos erlegen, gleichzeitig aber schon immer gegen den Faschismus und Mussolini gewesen sei. Dass dem nicht so war, Mussolini eine hohe Zustimmung inner- und außerhalb Italiens genoss – auch und gerade weil er in seinen Reden geschickt auf die Meinungen und Wünsche seiner Zeitgenossen einging –, das wird in dieser breit angelegten Propaganda-Analyse detailreich gezeigt. Die Studie geht dezidiert der Frage nach, wie Mussolini Mythen rhetorisch einsetzte, um gesellschaftlichen Konsens zu erlangen und aufrecht zu erhalten.

    Die vorliegende Studie ergänzt den Forschungsstand zur Wirkung visueller Kommunikation politischer Akteure durch eine innovative Methodenkombination aus Eye-Tracking und Real-Time-Response-Messung. Die Studie untersucht, inwiefern nonverbales Verhalten sowohl die visuelle Aufmerksamkeit als auch die (spontanen) Urteile von RezipientInnen beeinflusst. Außerdem wird der Zusammenhang aus Blickverhalten und Urteilsbildung analysiert. Dazu sahen TeilnehmerInnen der Studie Videos von Politikerreden entweder mit oder ohne Ton. Befunde zeigen, dass spezifisches körpersprachliches Verhalten (z.B. emotionale Gesichtsausdrücke oder Handgesten) zum einen die visuelle Aufmerksamkeit lenkt. Zum anderen haben sowohl verbale Äußerungen als auch nonverbales Verhalten Auswirkungen auf die spontane Urteilsbildung über Politiker. Effekte nonverbaler Kommunikation treten insbesondere dann auf, wenn kein Ton verfügbar ist. Die Ergebnisse deuten zudem auf einzelne Zusammenhänge zwischen Blickverhalten und Urteilsbildung hin. This study complements research on the effects of visual communication by politicians by combining eye tracking and real-time response measurement. It investigates the extent to which non-verbal behaviour affects the visual attention of and (spontaneous) impression formation among viewers, while also analysing the relationship between gaze behaviour and impression formation. Participants watched videos of political speeches either with or without sound. The results show that specific non-verbal behaviour (e.g. emotional facial expressions or hand gestures) direct visual attention. Furthermore, both verbal statements and non-verbal communication affect spontaneous opinion formation about politicians. The effects of non-verbal communication occur especially if no verbal information is available. Moreover, the results indicate some relation between attention distribution and impression formation.

    L'émergence de nouvelles formes d'usages et de communications par les nouveaux médias de l'information et de la communication et notamment les phénomènes discutés sous l'appellation "Web 2.0" ou "Web social", nous poussent à nous interroger sur la manière dont ces médias influencent les structures de communication et l'organisation des savoirs d'une société. Les cultures francophones se positionnent dans ce réseau entre des tendances uniformisatrices au niveau mondial et des stratégies d'adaptation culturelle ou d'expression identitaire spécifiques. Ainsi, on peut observer que la politique française accorde à Internet un rôle stratégique primordial tant au niveau national qu'international, notamment dans le contexte de la Francophonie. Face à ce prolongement d'une ambition historique de l'Hexagone, les nouvelles applications médiatiques favorisent également la mise en réseau de pays francophones hors d'Europe et l'expression d'identités culturelles spécifiques. En outre, les enjeux politiques et identitaires posés dans ce que l'on pourrait dénommer le cyberespace francophone, ces nouvelles formes de communication et d'expression posent un défi aux médias et aux champs artistiques plus traditionnels et, par conséquent, à leur analy se scientifique. Ce volume rassemble des contributions de chercheurs européens, africains et nord-américains pour explorer les enjeux et perspectives ouverts par ce cyber space francophone et pour réfléchir à de nouvelles pistes de recherche dans le domaine des études sur les cultures francophones et leurs médias.

    Projekt CH+ is a Switzerland-based initiative built on co-design and interdisciplinary exchange. It strives to identify new solutions at the intersection of politics, communication, game design and user experience. Together with voters, political experts and game designers we create an app which uses game mechanics to help users select their ideal candidates during elections. During the 2019 Swiss federal elections, more than 500 people participated in online surveys on feature requests for a gamified solution, which supports users in identifying political candidates that match their personal profile. This data was complemented by 15 testing sessions, where users could interact with a prototype. The received feedback was used to complete the beta-version, which was available as a web-app during cantonal elections in Uri, March 2020. During this first public field test, more than 200 volunteers signed up to test the prototype and 5 school classes participated in an A/B evaluation, where the playful prototype was compared to a traditional electoral support. This report outlines the theoretical framework at the base of the prototype, the most prominent findings of the field research and presents the CH+ Feedback Model, which lies at the centre of the design process. The CH+ app prototype and model are further developed in an iterative process from election to election.

    La traduction est un phénomène central pour l'Europe telle qu'elle est en train de se construire : elle assure les échanges entre Etats sans qu'une langue commune donne l'impression d'une hégémonie quelconque ou d'un abandon des identités nationales. Cet attachement à la notion d'identité tout en ménageant les échanges culturels est une constante de l'histoire européenne et ces échanges passés, fondés sur la traduction, font que la construction de l'Europe ne se réduit pas à la création d'une entité économique et politique : elle possède une dimension humaine et culturelle spécifique, qui lui donne son âme. Ce colloque a abordé ces deux aspects du rôle de la traduction en Europe : dans le passé et aujourd'hui comme facteur de découverte mutuelle et ferment culturel ; de manière plus spécifique aujourd'hui comme facteur d'équilibre et instrument de communication au sein des institutions. Le colloque a rassemblé des spécialistes de nombreux pays européens ou observateurs jetant un regard sur l'Europe. Les textes partent de la traduction en Irlande au Moyen Age pour aboutir aux traducteurs allemands de Roumanie au XIXe siècle. La dernière partie du colloque tente de faire le point sur divers aspects de la recherche en matière de traductologie ainsi que sur la formation des traducteurs.

    Ce livre offre un portrait détaillé des journalistes français et américains en action, alors qu’ils débattent de la façon dont traiter et commenter l’un des sujets les plus importants de notre époque. En s’appuyant sur des interviews avec des journalistes de premier plan et sur les analyses d’un vaste échantillon d’informations tirées de la presse papier et de la télévision depuis les années 1970, Rodney Benson montre comment le débat sur l’immigration s’est progressivement focalisé sur les cadres spectaculaires et chargés d’émotion de l’humanitarisme et de l’ordre public. Cependant, même en cette époque d’hyper-commercialisation globale, il met en évidence des différences franco-américaines persistantes - différences liées à des positions sociétales, des logiques professionnelles et des structures internes propres à chacun des deux champs journalistiques nationaux. Dans les deux pays, ce sont les médias les moins commerciaux qui ont tendance à offrir une information plus approfondie, plus multiperspectiviste et plus critique. Rodney Benson remet en question les thèses classiques du libéralisme selon lesquelles l’intervention de l’État aurait des effets inhibants sur la presse. Il met au jour les inconvénients et les avantages liés à la vogue actuelle de l’information narrative personnalisée et attire l’attention sur les pratiques journalistiques les plus susceptibles de permettre l’autonomisation de la société civile. Einerseits wird durch Medien öffentlich sichtbar, wie stark biblische Texte und von ihnen angestoßene Werte und Haltungen in der Gegenwart bedeutsam und gefragt sind. Andererseits sind Beiträge der Universitätstheologie in diesen kleinen Formaten nur selten zu finden. Was also müssen theologische Expert:innen lernen, um im öffentlichen Diskurs stärker beteiligt zu sein?
