    ger: Die Globalisierung und der Wunsch von Unternehmen nach Internationalisierung haben die Folgen interkultureller Unterschiede im Arbeitskontext in einem nie dagewesenen Umfang sichtbar gemacht. Um die zukünftige Generation von Managern auf ein internationales und multikulturelles Arbeitsumfeld vorzubereiten, ist es wichtig, den derzeitigen Status Quo der Millennial Generation in Bezug auf interkulturelle Unterschiede zu erfassen. 225 Studenten aus den USA, Österreich und Japan wurden in einem interkulturellen Fragebogen nach der eigenen Verwendung von Sources of Guidance, Leitlinien, gefragt. Anschließend wurden sie gefragt welche Sources sie glauben, dass Studenten der beiden anderen Länder verwenden. Sources of Guidance sagen zukünftiges Verhalten besser vorher als Wertehaltungen dies tun. Darüber hinaus sind sie kontextualisierter und weniger abstrakt. Die Analysen ergaben, dass es bei einigen Sources Unterschiede zwischen Studenten der Länder im Selbstrating gibt. Außerdem konnte gezeigt werden, dass Studenten der Länder die jeweils anderen Länder in einigen Sources im Fremdrating als verschieden einstufen. Es zeigt sich, dass eine Notwendigkeit für die Forcierung von interkulturellen Kompetenztrainings besteht, da diese als elementares Mittel für den Erfolg in internationalen Geschäften gelten. eng: Globalization and companies’ drive to expand internationally have made intercultural differences in the work place visible to an unprecedented extent. Therefore, it is important to prepare the upcoming generation of managers for an international and multicultural work environment. 225 students from the USA, Austria, and Japan were analysed in order to display the current situation of the Millennial Generation in terms of intercultural differences. They were asked about their own usage of Sources of Guidance, as well as which sources they think students from the other two countries would most likely rely on. Sources of Guidance are said to be more contextualized and are better predictors for future behaviour than values. Results showed that the countries differed in some Sources in their self-rating. Further analysis showed that each of the three countries rated the other two countries as different from one another in some Sources in the external-rating. Because intercultural competence trainings are considered to be a fundamental resource for successfully working in an international context, it is concluded that there is a need for an increase in the implementation of these trainings.
