    Was ist interkulturell an interkulturellen Trainings? Auf Basis theoretischer Debatten um soziales Wissen, Sprache, Diskurs und Rassismuskritik stellt die empirische Studie die Frage, in welcher Weise sich rassismuskritisch aufklärbare Wissensordnungen im Sprechen von Polizist*innen nach der Teilnahme an Schulungen zur Förderung interkultureller Kompetenz zeigen. Es wird deutlich, dass das Interkulturelle in den Trainings einerseits als Chiffre für migrationsgesellschaftliche Verhältnisse, andererseits als Möglichkeitsraum zur (Re-)Produktion und Verfestigung von Wissen fungiert, das kulturrassistisch kodierte Themen und Figuren aufruft. What is intercultural about intercultural training? On the basis of theoretical debates about social knowledge, language, discourse and the critique of racism, the empirical study asks in what way racism-critical knowledge orders show up in the speech of police officers after participating in trainings to promote intercultural competence. It becomes clear that the intercultural in the trainings functions on the one hand as a cipher for migration-society relations, and on the other hand as a space of possibility for the (re)production and consolidation of knowledge relevant to the critique of racism.

    While the subject of racism is currently drawing social attention increasingly, the presence of racist structures and stereotypes in the most diverse areas of contemporary German society is being proven and exposed. Against this background, the research shed light on the importance of German-language children’s literature for the internalisation of racist thought patterns. Based on close reading of selected contemporary children’s books, the re_production and communication of various manifestations of racism are analysed. From an intersectional perspective, standards of anti-discrimination in the literary world are recommended to promote more diversity in children’s literature and anti-racist thinking.
