    Accessibility, understood as social integration, has been studied from many perspectives yet, due to our constantly changing environment, the concept is still in flux and needs to be reexamined. Within Translation Studies, audiovisual translation (AVT) has expanded the concept of translation activity and its growth has been exponential. In recent decades, AVT and accessibility studies have developed side by side, and the intersection of both fields has been at the heart of academic research as well as of professional practice. This collective volume showcases nine chapters written by specialists who approach the topic from different, yet complementary perspectives. All of them analyse the production of accessible translated material that requires adaptation to meet the needs and expectations of a multifarious audience, including older people, persons with sensory and cognitive disabilities, and those with limited digital knowledge.

    Esta obra está dedicada a la traducción en el sector turístico y, en particular, a la aceptabilidad que manifiestan los destinatarios de textos turísticos con respecto a la traducción de elementos culturales. Además de estudiar en profundidad el texto turístico como texto especializado y la traducción de la cultura como uno de los retos principales de la traducción turística, se da prioridad a la figura del receptor y a su necesaria cooperación para la mejora de este tipo de traducción. Con el objetivo de investigar la aceptabilidad de elementos culturales traducidos, esta monografía presenta un estudio cuantitativo que se sirve de un cuestionario administrado a un grupo de usuarios anglófonos de textos turísticos del sureste español. Los datos recopilados permiten identificar la técnica de traducción con mayor y menor aceptabilidad, establecer prioridades traductológicas y averiguar la aceptabilidad de determinadas traducciones turísticas publicadas por organismos oficiales

    Ausgehend von Šalamovs Poetik und mit Blick auf die Positionen von Solženicyn und Semprún sollen im Folgenden einige Aspekte des vielschichtigen Problemfeldes 'Überleben und Schreiben' diskutiert werden. Dabei geht es mir, das sei betont, nicht um einen Vergleich zwischen dem sowjetischen GULag und den nationalsozialistischen Konzentrations- beziehungsweise Vernichtungslagern. Ein solcher Vergleich war auch von keinem der drei Autoren intendiert, selbst wenn sich deren Refl exionen mitunter auch auf die europäischen Terrorpraktiken des 20. Jahrhunderts insgesamt erstreckten. Die Art und Weise, wie das Überleben in literarischen Texten thematisiert wird, hängt eng mit der Frage nach den poetologischen Konsequenzen zusammen, nach Möglichkeiten und Grenzen des Sprechens über das Erlebte, nach der Modellierung des Lagers in fiktionalen Räumen. Mit Ausnahme von Solženicyns 'Archipel GULAG', in dem gestützt auf zahlreiche mündliche und schriftliche Berichte von Überlebenden der "Versuch einer künstlerischen Untersuchung" des GULag-Systems als Ganzes unternommen wird, handelt es sich bei den nachfolgenden Beispielen um literarische Darstellungen des Lagers aus der Perspektive eines Einzelnen. Die literarische Rekonstruktion des im Lager Erlebten verlangte jedem Schreibenden ethische und ästhetische Entscheidungen ab.

    Dennis Bock stellt in seinem Beitrag "'Denn es geht hier nicht um Mögen oder Nichtmögen. Die Muselmänner stören ihn, das ist es' - Erzählungen über Muselmänner in der Literatur über die Shoah heraus", wie durch die narrative Variation der im Rahmen der Shoah-Literatur inventarisierten Figur des Muselmanns und dem mit ihr verbundenen konventionalisierten Narrativ ein Störpotential erzeugt wird, das den Fokus auf die Berührbarkeit eines Tabus legt. Es ist die Berührbarkeit des Todes, die durch die erzählerische Identifikation mit einer zwischen Leben und Tod begriffenen Figur evoziert wird, und dergestalt einen Reflexionsprozess in Gang setzt.

    Marcus Coelen's essay 'An Eclipse of the Screen: Jorge Semprún's Scripts for Alain Resnais' starts from the assumption that the peculiar status of film scripts (not written to be read as such) can be illustrated by the figure of their eclipse. For they are, in inverting the very logic of the figure they invite, eclipsed for the sake of and by the fractured light on the screen they help to produce. Yet just as the sun, obscured by the 'black writing' of the moon, leaves an ephemeral contour in the skies - a spectacle to many when happening - so too can the script that is made to disappear by the screen be assumed to draw its own particular and even more vanishing traits into the movie that is given not only to sight but also to thought. The analyses and critical constructions proposed by Coelen try to detect such traits in the work of Jorge Semprún the screen writer. Writing not only for movies by Alain Resnais - most notably "La guerre est finie" (1966) and "Stavisky" (1974) - but also publishing versions of them after their release and calling those versions 'scénarios' despite various divergences and subtly violent inversions of the movies' images, the screenwriter's figure describes yet another twist of the eclipse. It can be assumed not only that Semprún strongly resisted the influence of the constellation formed by writing and cinematographic shooting, as well as projecting, but furthermore that this writing was almost imperceptibly yet essentially directed against the eclipse it was drawn into. No minor forces are conjured up in this enterprise. Driven by the desire to re-appropriate cinema's a-personal and anti-psychological movement, to domesticate the images of scribbling lights drifting away from the mental and into thought - as well as into a history not mastered -, Semprún attempted to shape mastery itself and most traditional forms of authorship, along with memory and agency, in order to cloud the eclipse of script - that is, we might add, to conjure up a ghost recovering the trace of what has been ...

    The lifelong friendship between Anna Seghers and Jorge Amado began in the late 1940s, when both were engaged in the international communist struggle for world peace. After becoming disillusioned with the Stalinist tyranny, Amado left the PC, whereas Seghers officially continued to follow the party line. She concealed her critique of (post-) stalinist theory and practice in some essays on literature history, especially on Tolstoy, Dostoevsky and Schiller – essays which she dedicated to Amado, who would understand the problems and contradictions within her political involvement.
