ger: Die vorliegende Dissertation "Kleidersprache im künstlerischen Text. Sowjetische Kleidercodes zwischen 1954 und 1985" untersucht die Kleidersprache im künstlerischen Text, indem sie ihre Funktionen, ihren Stellenwert und ihre Ausdrucksformen feststellt und analysiert. Über die Kleidersprache, die einen Teil des künstlerischen Diskurses darstellt, werden einerseits erzähltechnische Mittel im literarischen Text und Film, andererseits Aspekte der sowjetischen Alltags- und Gesellschaftsgeschichte sowie Geschlechter- und Identitätskonstruktionen im untersuchten Zeitraum ermittelt. Die Dissertation bestätigt die These, dass Kleidersprache einen relevanten Untersuchungsgegenstand darstellt, der die Analyse der angegebenen Bereiche erlaubt. Die Arbeit gliedert sich in zwei Teile: Der erste setzt sich mit den theoretischen Fragestellungen der Kleidersprache auseinander, der zweite bietet eine Analyse der Kleidersprache im künstlerischen Text, der die Zeit von 1954 bis 1985 darstellt. Die Analyse beginnt nach dem Tod Stalins im Jahr 1954, erstreckt sich über die Tauwetterperiode in den 1960er Jahren und die Stagnationszeit der 1970er und der frühen 1980er Jahre und endet mit dem Einsetzen der Perestroika im Jahr 1985. Das Forschungsmaterial liefern literarische Texte und Spielfilme, die den oben angeführten Zeitraum in der Sowjetunion darstellen, behandeln und reflektieren. Im Unterschied zu bereits vorhandenen Studien, die Kleidung im literarischen Text und im Film untersuchen, eröffnet diese Arbeit insofern einen neuen Zugang, als Kleidung als ein zentrales Bezugsobjekt etabliert wird, das gleichsam zwischen Individuum und Gesellschaft vermittelt und das "Innere" des Menschen reflektiert. Somit entstehen aus der Analyse vestimentärer Codes neue Perspektiven für die Untersuchung von Texten, Filmen, Alltags- und Gesellschaftsgeschichte der Sowjetunion sowie der dort wirksamen Geschlechterkonstruktionen. Der methodische Ansatz kombiniert strukturalistisch-semiotische und hermeneutische Theorien. Vestimentäre Kommunikation bedient sich der Kleidung als Zeichen, die Bedeutungen im Rahmen von Semantik und Kommunikationsstrukturen transportieren. Eine umfassende Decodierung der Zeichen auf Basis des aktuellen Wissens wird mithilfe hermeneutischer Verfahren der Interpretation möglich, die den struktural-semiotischen Zugang konkretisiert. eng: The thesis at hand "The language of clothes in literature and film. Soviet codes of clothing between 1954 and 1985" examines the language of clothing in art. It describes and analyses the various expressive forms, the status and functions of clothing in the given period. Selected literary texts and feature films are investigated with view to their language of clothing, which is part of the artistic discourse, thereby exploring clothing as a narratological means and investigating connections to the Soviet everyday life, social history, identity and gender constructions. The thesis consists of two parts: The first one explores theoretical issues about the language of clothes; the second part offers an analysis of the clothing in the arts from 1954 to 1985. The analysis begins after Stalin's death in 1954, it covers the thaw period in the 1960s and the stagnation period of the 1970s and the early 1980s, and ends with the beginning of the perestroika in 1985. The analysis is based on literary texts and feature films, which show, highlight and reflect the mentioned period in the Soviet Union. In contrast to existing studies dedicated to clothes in literary texts and films, this work offers a new approach by establishing clothing as an interface, which mediates between the individual and the society, and reflects the "inner world" of the person. Thus the analysis of vestmental codes enables new perspectives for the investigation of texts, films, everyday life, culture and history of the Soviet Union as well as its gender constructions. Methodically, the thesis combines structural-semiotic and hermeneutic theories. Vestmental communication uses clothing as signs that convey meaning within the frame of semantics and communicative structures. A comprehensive decoding of signs is enabled by interpretative hermeneutic procedures (New Historicism), which specify structural-semiotic approach.
