    Hölderlins Formreflexion lässt sich mit dem Begriff des Formprinzips fassen, der das Fragment in ein produktives Konzept unter Bezug auf die ›Logik des Produziertseins‹ (Adorno) wandelt. Das tragische Fragment als Formprinzip dividiert Tragödie und Tragisches auseinander. Um diesen Moment der Zersplitterung in seiner historischen Wirksamkeit nachzuvollziehen, werden das Empedokles-Projekt untersucht und zwei Wirkungsvignetten vorgestellt: 1. Nietzsches Empedokles-Fragmentkonvolute, die ebenfalls einen Moment der Zersplitterung indizieren und als Vorstufe des Zarathustra zu lesen sind; 2. Szondis Arbeit zu Hölderlin als dezidierte Umwertung von Hölderlins Werk zu einer Philosophie des Tragischen.

    Die Karriere der »Marmorklippen« seit ihrem Erscheinen 1939 war wechselhaft: Widerstandsschrift, Schullektüre, Problembuch. Diese Ausgabe liefert neben dem Roman zahlreiche Materialien zu Entstehung und Hintergründen der langjährigen Debatte. Der Roman »Auf den Marmorklippen«, der zu Beginn des Zweiten Weltkriegs erschien, galt lange als ethisches und ästhetisches Problembuch im Werk Ernst Jüngers und wurde zugleich vielfach als Parabel auf den Nationalsozialismus verstanden. Nicht nur Jünger selbst schrieb ihm nachträglich eine darüber hinausreichende geschichtsphilosophische Erklärungsmacht zu.     Viele namhafte Intellektuelle, Dichter, Juristen, Historiker, Philologen waren um 1800 von dem Gedanken besessen, dass ein deutscher Nationalstaat nur durch die Überwindung des »fremden« römischen Rechts und Wiederherstellung eines »einheimischen« Rechts erreicht werden könnte. Noch 1846 hielt das spätere Mitglied der Frankfurter Nationalversammlung Georg Beseler das Römische Recht für ein »Nationalunglück«. Damit schrieb er einen Gedanken fort, der mit Beginn der »Deutschen Bewegung« im 18. Jahrhundert vorgetragen wurde. Christian Lück untersucht den Diskurs von Justus Möser, der um 1770 Goethe und Herder wichtige Anregungen geliefert hat, über Savignys Historische Rechtsschule, die politische Romantik, Fichte, Kleist, Adam Müller, die Gebrüder Grimm bis zum Germanistentag 1846.     Viele namhafte Intellektuelle, Dichter, Juristen, Historiker, Philologen waren um 1800 von dem Gedanken besessen, dass ein deutscher Nationalstaat nur durch die Überwindung des »fremden« römischen Rechts und Wiederherstellung eines »einheimischen« Rechts erreicht werden könnte. Noch 1846 hielt das spätere Mitglied der Frankfurter Nationalversammlung Georg Beseler das Römische Recht für ein »Nationalunglück«. Damit schrieb er einen Gedanken fort, der mit Beginn der »Deutschen Bewegung« im 18. Jahrhundert vorgetragen wurde. Christian Lück untersucht den Diskurs von Justus Möser, der um 1770 Goethe und Herder wichtige Anregungen geliefert hat, über Savignys Historische Rechtsschule, die politische Romantik, Fichte, Kleist, Adam Müller, die Gebrüder Grimm bis zum Germanistentag 1846.     Die Studie beschäftigt sich erstmals dezidiert mit dem Thema Liebe bei Gottfried Keller und untersucht zu diesem Zweck kontrastierend zwei Novellensammlungen, die zusammen Früh- und Spätwerk des Autors umgreifen („Die Leute von Seldwyla“ und „Das Sinngedicht“). Damit soll nicht nur ein Beitrag zur Kellerforschung geleistet, sondern darüber hinaus auch der Versuch unternommen werden, den theoretischen Rahmen von literaturwissenschaftlichen Liebesstudien mit Hilfe der Psychoanalyse zu erweitern. Mit Freud und Lacan wird deutlich, was für ein großer Sprung es von den Verliebtheitsgeschichten der am Imaginären haftenden Seldwyler zur Liebe als symbolischer Sinnverdichtung ist. Wenn es stimmt, dass Kellers „Sinngedicht“ ein Buch über Übertragung ist, dann kann diese Studie zuletzt auch ein Licht auf die literarische Vorgeschichte der Psychoanalyse werfen, die sich für Liebesgeschichten fortan nicht nur zuständig erklärt, sondern die daraus sogar ihre Behandlungstechnik ableitet.

    The second volume on the Austrian excavations of the years 1975-1980 on the acropolis of Aigeira aims at a reconstruction of the post-palatial Mycenaean settlement, based on stratigraphy and findings. Spatial analyses were executed on the basis of distribution patterns of installations as well as small finds, pithoi and pottery in situ showing a settlement consisting of households based on family structures which are characterized by storage, production of goods and feasting. Furthermore, the social grade of the inhabitants is underlined by a cult room as well as a fortification evident for a late phase of the settlement.

Next to theoretical considerations about how German Studies faculty can approach diversity and decolonization, individual contributions also provide practical models and guidelines that lead to curricula, which help attend to diversity and decolonization. Connecting German Studies with critical race, whiteness, gender, sexuality, migration, and disability studies, this volume brings together German Studies scholars from a range of institutions and at various levels of their career to map out a path towards decolonization and a more inclusive discipline. Regine Criser is Assistant Professor of German Studies at the University of North Carolina Asheville, USA, where she also serves as the coordinator of the First Year Seminars and the Director of the UNCA Prison Education Program. She is a co-founder of the Diversity, Decolonization, and the German Curriculum (DDGC) scholarly collective. Her research focuses on cultural representations of the GDR in contemporary Germany, inclusive pedagogy, and conceptualizations of belonging. Ervin Malakaj is Assistant Professor of German Studies at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is a co-founder of the Diversity, Decolonization, and the German Curriculum (DDGC) scholarly collective. He specializes in late-18th- to 21st-century German media and cultural history. His research focuses on 19th-century literary cultures, film history, narrative theory, queer theory, and critical pedagogy
