    Orientiert am linguistisch und literaturwissenschaftlich geprägten Ansatz einer historischen Kommunikationstheorie gelten die Beiträge kommunikativen Aspekte mittelalterlicher Literatur in folgenden Problemfeldern: Texte als dialogisches Medium (Autor– Publikum, Text– Benutzer), dialogisches Sprechen (Wechselrede), konversationelle Konventionen im Dialog (Anrede, Höflichkeit, Sprachregulierung) oder Monolog als Dialog, „Gespräch0 der Texte untereinander (Intertextualität, u.a. im Aufnehmen sprachlicher Muster, Motive, Formeln, Szenetypen etc.) oder dialogische Prinzipien innerhalb der Überlieferung (Beweglichkeit der Texte, Bild und Text). The articles in this volume take their bearings from an approach to historical communication theory based on linguistics and literary studies. They examine communicative aspects of medieval literature in the following fields: texts as a dialogic medium (author-audience, text-user), dialogic speech (dialogue proper), conversational conventions in dialogue (address, politeness, language regulation) or monologue as dialogue, "dialogue" between texts (intertextuality, e.g. adoption of linguistic patterns, motifs, formulaic expressions, scene types, etc.), and dialogic principles effective in the transmission of texts (mobility of texts, image and text).

    Uno de los fenómenos culturales más dinámicos del Siglo de Oro fue la Leyenda Negra, el sistema de imágenes que utilizó y difundió la propaganda antihispánica del momento, principalmente la de algunos de los enemigos de la Monarquía Hispánica como holandeses, ingleses y protestantes alemanes. Este libro examina la Leyenda Negra como un fenómeno dialógico y muestra cómo dramaturgos como Lope de Vega, Vélez de Guevara o Rojas Zorrilla conocían la argumentación del enemigo y cómo reaccionaron a ella de distintas maneras.
