    ger: Die Dissertation untersucht die literarische Übersetzung von fantastischer Kinderliteratur und beleuchtet speziell die Auswirkungen der Übersetzung des englischen Anredepronomens you mit dem modernen deutschen Sie auf das fiktive Setting in Fantasykontexten. Es wird angenommen, dass Sie die Einheitlichkeit der fiktiven Realität kompromittiert und das alter-tümliche deutsche Ihr in solchen Kontexten angebrachter ist. Dies wird anhand von literaturwissenschaftlichen Analysen, die Fantasyliteratur als eine Weiterführung von romantischen Ideen (speziell im Hinblick auf Nostalgie) auffassen, argumentiert und letztendlich bestätigt. Die Untersuchungen werden anhand eines ausgewählten Korpus – einer englischen Kinderfantasytrilogie des Autors Mike Wilks namens Mirrorscape (2007-2010) – durchgeführt. Von dieser wurden zwei Bücher ins Deutsche übersetzt, worin die englische Anrede you mit dem modernen deutschen Sie übersetzt wird. Anhand ausgewählter Beispiele aus dem Korpus wird untersucht, welche Auswirkungen diese Übersetzung auf die deutschen Texte und speziell auf das fiktive Setting hat. Es zeigt sich, dass das Setting der deutschen Romane tatsächlich als inkonsistenter und unauthentischer empfunden wird als das der englischen Bücher, da das moderne Pronomen im Kontext der romantisch-nostalgischen fiktiven Welt unnatürlich und illusionsbrechend scheint. Es wird geschlussfolgert, dass deutsche Übersetzungen englischer Fantasyromane daher auf das archaische Ihrzen zurückgreifen sollten, um die Charaktersprache an die altertümliche fiktive Welt anzugleichen und letztere solcherart authentischer zu gestalten. Anhand der theoretischen Diskussionen und der literarischen Case Study wird aufgezeigt, dass literarische Kompetenz in der literarischen Übersetzung unumgänglich und fundiertes literarisches Wissen vonnöten ist, um eine adäquate, korrekte und literaturwissenschaftlich überzeugende Übersetzung zu erstellen. eng: This dissertation discusses the literary translation of children’s fantasy, analysing in particular the effects which a translation of the English pronominal address term you with German modern Sie has on the fictional setting of fantasy literature. It is assumed that modern German Sie compromises the inner consistency of the fictional reality, and that it is better in fantasy contexts to use archaic German Ihr instead. This is demonstrated and confirmed by means of literary analyses which argue that fantasy literature reflects a continuation of Romantic ideas, and particularly Romantic nostalgia. The dissertation analyses a specifically selected corpus, i.e. an English children’s fantasy trilogy by author Mike Wilks called Mirrorscape (2007-2010). Two of its three books were translated into German, where the English addressing term you is translated with modern German Sie. By means of examples taken from the corpus it is demonstrated which effects this translation has on the fictional setting of the German texts. It emerges that the German novels’ setting appears less consistent and less authentic than that of the English books, because the modern pronoun seems to break with the nostalgic fictional world. The analysis concludes that German translations of English fantasy novels should resort to archaic German Ihr in order to adapt the character language to the ‘past-like’ fictional world and render it more authentic. The theoretical discussions and the practical case study demonstrate that literary competence is indispensable in literary translation: in fact, well-founded literary expertise seems crucial in order to be able to produce an adequate, correct and valid literary translation.
