    We say, you belong to me, or I belong to you. But is it possible to be possessed by others? And can we ever possess ourselves? In this raw and intimate account, Eva-Lynn Jagoe merges memoir with critical theory as she recounts the unraveling of everything she thought she knew about selfhood, relationships, and desire. Through the story of an upbringing in a patriarchal Spanish and American household, a dissociative and painful relationship towards men and power, and a chaotic marriage and divorce, she interrogates the destructive fantasy of possessive individualism that permeates our psyches and our cultural expectations. Woven through this narrative is an account of the unique relationship that Jagoe has with her psychoanalyst, in which she works through her tendency to give herself away to others, and learns to navigate the many contradictory selves that we all hold within us. This journey leads her to an enriched understanding of self-possession. Theorien zur Geschlechtsidentität sind in einem steten Wandel begriffen: von der Dichotomie der Geschlechter bis zum Genderdiskurs, von Freud bis Butler. Einigkeit besteht heute darin, dass Geschlechtsidentität das Resultat einer komplexen Interaktion zwischen körperlichen, seelischen und sozialen Faktoren ist.Auch die psychoanalytische Theorie und Praxis hat sich stets mit dem Verständnis von Männlichkeit und Weiblichkeit, deren Entwicklung und Verhältnis zueinander befasst. Vor diesem Hintergrund erkunden die Autorinnen und Autoren die Rollen von Mann und Frau.     Racial, ethnic, and gender minorities face mental health disparities. While mental health care can help, minoritized groups could face discriminatory barriers in accessing it. Discrimination may be particularly pronounced in mental health care because providers have more discretion over accepting patients. Research documents discrimination broadly, including in access to health care, but there is limited empirical research on discrimination in access to mental health care. We provide the first experimental evidence, from a correspondence audit field experiment ("simulated patients" study), of the extent to which transgender and non-binary people, African Americans, and Hispanics face discrimination in access to mental health care appointments. We find significant discrimination against transgender or non-binary African Americans and Hispanics. We do not find evidence of discrimination against White transgender and non-binary prospective patients. We are mostly inconclusive as to if cisgender African Americans or Hispanics face discrimination, except we find evidence of discrimination against cisgender African American women.

    Digitale Rollenspiele wirken sich auf die Persönlichkeitsentwicklung ihrer SpielerInnen aus. Katharina Mittlböck setzt sich damit und mit dem Akt des Spielens aus psychoanalytischer Sicht auseinander: Durch das Eintauchen ins Gameplay können einst internalisierte Repräsentanzen von Objekt und Selbst auf Avatare respektive Spielszenen übertragen werden. Interaktionen mit Avataren eröffnen Chancen zur Modifikation dieser Internalisierungen. Sie sind somit als Akt der Persönlichkeitsentwicklung einzustufen. Diese Erkenntnis bildet eine Basis für ein besseres Verständnis des gesellschaftlich relevanten Phänomens »Digitales Rollenspiel« sowie für die künftige Entwicklung psychoanalytisch-pädagogischer Konzepte in den Bereichen Bildung und Therapie.

    Racial, ethnic, and gender minorities face mental health disparities. While mental health care can help, minoritized groups could face discriminatory barriers in accessing it. Discrimination may be particularly pronounced in mental health care because providers have more discretion over accepting patients. Research documents discrimination broadly, including in access to health care, but there is limited empirical research on discrimination in access to mental health care. We provide the first experimental evidence, from a correspondence audit field experiment ("simulated patients" study), of the extent to which transgender and non-binary people, African Americans, and Hispanics face discrimination in access to mental health care appointments. We find significant discrimination against transgender or non-binary African Americans and Hispanics. We do not find evidence of discrimination against White transgender and non-binary prospective patients. We are mostly inconclusive as to if cisgender African Americans or Hispanics face discrimination, except we find evidence of discrimination against cisgender African American women.
