    Cet article de synthèse propose un bilan des principales éditions scientifiques de documents notariés en langue arabe, publiés pendant ces vingt dernières années. Il décrit par ailleurs les nouvelles méthodes en lien avec les humanités numériques qui permettent d’analyser ces spécimens, dans une perspective comparative, en tant que vestiges de la pratique juridique du VIIIe au XVe siècle. Enfin, il conclut par une approche chronologique, mettant en relation la pratique notariale et la pensée juridique dans le cadre du droit musulman.
