    Das Buch thematisiert phraseologische Irregularitäten, also Phraseme, die strukturelle oder semantische Abweichungen gegenüber dem freien Sprachgebrauch aufweisen. Der Autor zeigt systematisch deren Vielfalt auf, wertet ihren tatsächlichen Gebrauch mithilfe von Korpusanalysen aus und reflektiert ihre Spezifika aus sprachnorm- und sprachwandeltheoretischer sowie konstruktionsgrammatischer Perspektive. Er kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass phraseologische Irregularitäten innerhalb der Phraseologie beziehungsweise der formelhaften Sprache keine Randstellung einnehmen. Ihr irregulärer Charakter muss daher aus verschiedenen Blickrichtungen relativiert werden.

    Main description: Den Untersuchungsgegenstand bilden literarische Texte der frühen Neuzeit aus den unterschiedlichsten Gattungen, die sich aus moralistischer Perspektive mit der Alltagskommunikation befassen (Lüge, Verleumdung, Prahlerei, gute Ratschläge, Schweigen etc.). Die Quellen werden unter Rückgriff auf Ansätze der Zivilisationstheorie in den Kontext der Christianisierung Europas zwischen dem 15. und 18. Jahrhundert gestellt und auf ihre literarischen Strategien zur Vermittlung von Normen für das Sprechhandeln hin untersucht. Ferner erfährt der berühmte erste »Reyen der Höflinge« von Andreas Gryphius eine Neuinterpretation als normativer Text über das alltägliche Redeverhalten

    Main description: The study examines literary texts of the early Modern Age from a broad variety of genres taking a moralistic stance on the do's and don'ts of everyday communication (lies, boasting, denigration, good advice, silence etc.). Drawing upon approaches pursued in the theory of civilization, the sources are placed in the context of the Christianization of Europe between the 15th and 18th centuries and examined for the light they cast on strategies for the establishment of standards for 'seemly' discourse. In addition, Andreas Gryphius' famous first "Reyen der Höflinge" is given a new interpretation in terms of its function as a normative text on everyday speech behaviour

    Die moderne Alltagskommunikation wird von einem komplexen Verhaltenskodex bestimmt: Kulturelle Standards wie das Verbot von Lüge, die Ablehnung von Verleumdung und Prahlerei, eine positive Haltung gegenüber guten Ratschlägen und die Wertschätzung des Schweigens in gewissen Situationen lenken die alltägliche Redepraxis. Diese und viele andere im heutigen Zusammenleben selbstverständlichen Normen und Werte für das Sprechen wurden von den theologischen Fachschriftstellern des Mittelalters theoretisch erarbeitet und seit dem 15. Jahrhundert über die verschiedenen zeitgenössischen Medien (Predigt, Lied, Flugblatt, Buch etc.) und nahezu alle literarischen Gattungen (Gedicht, Erzählung, Erbauungsbuch, Reisebericht, Enzyklopädie etc.) in die breite Bevölkerung getragen. Die vorliegende Studie sichtet erstmals die fast unübersehbare Masse an literarischen Quellen zur "Bezähmung der Zunge" vom späten 15. bis zur Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts. Die Texte werden aus der Perspektive der Zivilisationstheorie in ihrer Partizipation an der umfassenden Christianisierung Europas während der frühen Neuzeit analysiert und auf ihre spezifischen Strategien zur Vermittlung von Normen für das Sprechen hin untersucht. Nicht zuletzt wird einer der bekanntesten Texte der Barockliteratur, Andreas Gryphius' erster "Reyen der Höflinge" aus dem Trauerspiel "Leo Armenius", unter Rückgriff auf Ansätze der Intertextualitätstheorie auf breiter Quellengrundlage neu interpretiert
