    In welcher Welt wollen wir leben? Miteinander im Gegeneinander, Nebeneinander oder doch in einem Füreinander? Ausgehend von dieser Frage wendet sich Paul*A Helfritzsch dem bestehenden Alltag zu, mit der Absicht, diesen zu verändern. Veränderung wird dabei nicht nur als leeres Prinzip verstanden, sondern als Vorbereitung. Worauf? Auf die Veränderung. So entsteht ein Plädoyer für eine Demokratie ohne Führer*innen, ein Miteinander ohne Mord, ein Plädoyer für Grazie und wehrhafte, nicht ausgehöhlte Menschenwürde. Darin sollen Ideen aus der Nacht in den Tag treten, die gemeinsam einen neuen Alltag, eine Normalität der Pluralität formen können. Gerahmt wird dies durch performative Versuche, der Pluralität durch ihre Wiederholung ein mögliches Gesicht zu geben.

    Pluralistische Wissenschaftstheorie ist kein etabliertes Format. Herkömmliche Darstellungen nehmen meist die Perspektive einer einzelnen Ausprägung von Wissenschaft ein, verbunden mit impliziten Wertungen und unbefragten Präferenzen. So belasten Kämpfe um Deutungshoheit notorisch die kooperative Forschung. Werner Kogge entfaltet demgegenüber einen neuen Ansatz: Er zeichnet nach, wie sich aus mehreren historischen Quellen verschiedene Typen wissenschaftlicher Forschung ausprägten, und wie diese Typen heute praktiziert werden. So entsteht ein Bild unterschiedlicher, aber gleichberechtigter Formen wissenschaftlicher Forschungspraxis, ohne hierarchische Staffelung oder eine evolutionäre Entwicklungslinie. Mit dieser Pluralität kommt auch eine neue Form von Interdisziplinarität in den Blick: strukturell, modular und praxisbezogen.

Drawing on the insights of Marxist and feminist critical theory and on the works of Althusser, Derrida, and Foucault, Rooney reads the pluralist's invitation to join in a "dialogue" as a seductive gesture. Critics who respond find that they must seek to persuade all of their potential readers. Rooney examines pluralism as a form of logic in the work of E. D. Hirsch, as a form of ethics for Wayne Booth, as a rhetoric of persuasion in the books of Stanley Fish. For Paul de Man, Rooney argues, pluralism was a rhetoric of tropes just as it was, for Fredric Jameson, a form of politics"--JSTOR.

    "Seductive Reasoning takes a provocative look at contemporary Anglo-American literary theory, calling into question the critical consensus on pluralism's nature and its status in literary studies. Drawing on the insights of Marxist and feminist critical theory and on the works of Althusser, Derrida, and Foucault, Rooney reads the pluralist's invitation to join in a "dialogue" as a seductive gesture. Critics who respond find that they must seek to persuade all of their potential readers. Rooney examines pluralism as a form of logic in the work of E. D. Hirsch, as a form of ethics for Wayne Booth, as a rhetoric of persuasion in the books of Stanley Fish. For Paul de Man, Rooney argues, pluralism was a rhetoric of tropes just as it was, for Fredric Jameson, a form of politics"--JSTOR

    In welcher Welt wollen wir leben? Miteinander im Gegeneinander, Nebeneinander oder doch in einem Füreinander? Ausgehend von dieser Frage wendet sich Paul*A Helfritzsch dem bestehenden Alltag zu, mit der Absicht, diesen zu verändern. Veränderung wird dabei nicht nur als leeres Prinzip verstanden, sondern als Vorbereitung. Worauf? Auf die Veränderung. So entsteht ein Plädoyer für eine Demokratie ohne Führer*innen, ein Miteinander ohne Mord, ein Plädoyer für Grazie und wehrhafte, nicht ausgehöhlte Menschenwürde. Darin sollen Ideen aus der Nacht in den Tag treten, die gemeinsam einen neuen Alltag, eine Normalität der Pluralität formen können. Gerahmt wird dies durch performative Versuche, der Pluralität durch ihre Wiederholung ein mögliches Gesicht zu geben.

    Pluralistische Wissenschaftstheorie ist kein etabliertes Format. Herkömmliche Darstellungen nehmen meist die Perspektive einer einzelnen Ausprägung von Wissenschaft ein, verbunden mit impliziten Wertungen und unbefragten Präferenzen. So belasten Kämpfe um Deutungshoheit notorisch die kooperative Forschung. Werner Kogge entfaltet demgegenüber einen neuen Ansatz: Er zeichnet nach, wie sich aus mehreren historischen Quellen verschiedene Typen wissenschaftlicher Forschung ausprägten, und wie diese Typen heute praktiziert werden. So entsteht ein Bild unterschiedlicher, aber gleichberechtigter Formen wissenschaftlicher Forschungspraxis, ohne hierarchische Staffelung oder eine evolutionäre Entwicklungslinie. Mit dieser Pluralität kommt auch eine neue Form von Interdisziplinarität in den Blick: strukturell, modular und praxisbezogen.

    Gemeinschaft gilt seit Tönnies' Gegenüberstellung mit dem Gesellschaftsbegriff als Prinzip der Vormoderne und weckt als solches Sehnsüchte oder Abwehr. Anhand einer Diskussion aktueller Beiträge gewinnt der Autor Anhaltspunkte für eine Untersuchung des Phänomens des Gemeinschaftsbezuges, wie dieser während des Hochwassers der Oder 1997 zu beobachten war. Wie sich zeigt, lässt sich die Frage nach dem Sinn, der Funktion und dem Funktionieren von Gemeinschaftsbezügen vom Individuum her beantworten. Die Gemeinschaft erscheint dann als ein nachgerade modernes Phänomen, das Voraussetzung für die Selbstbeschreibung von Individuen ist: Gemeinschaft ist unvermeidbar
