Epilog Der vorliegende Band bietet einen Durchgang durch Hölderlins dichterisches Schaffen und interpretiert zahlreiche Gedichte ausgehend von der Frage, wie sich das Verhältnis von Gott/Mensch/Sprache darin jeweils darstellt. Dieses zeigt sich als ein zunehmend gebrochen-fragiles; in dieser Schwächung kann sich jedoch eine neue Aufmerksamkeit für das Göttliche, das Menschliche und die Sprache entwickeln – in theologischer Diktion: Offenbarung Gottes nicht in einem „Mehr“, sondern in der Zurücknahme einer für den Menschen nicht fassbaren Fülle und im Abschied von fixierten Bildern

    Etymologische Ansätze zur Erfassung des Kitschbegriffs -- Entwicklungslinien entlang der Schwulst-, Reiz- und Empfindeleikritik im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert -- Die Kitschdiskussionen in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts (1911–1955) -- Die Kitschdiskussion in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts (1955–1978) -- Ausblick: Kitsch und Camp Laurenz Schulz liefert neue Erkenntnisse hinsichtlich der Etymologie und des regionalen Ursprungs des Kitschbegriffs und zeigt auf, dass die Werte Wahrheit, Originalität und Distanz dessen Bedeutung in invertierter Form dominieren. Die bisher in der Forschung gängige Annahme, dass Rührung bzw. Distanz die wichtigsten Werte für den Kitschbegriff sind, werden vom Autor widerlegt. Ausgehend hiervon vergleicht er den Kitsch-Diskurs mit den historischen Vorläuferphänomenen sowie postmodernen Phänomenen wie Camp und Trash und stellt argumentative Parallelen und Wertkongruenzen sowie Unterschiede heraus. Den damit verbundenen anthropologischen und subjektivitätstheoretischen Grundlagen und Funktionen des Erzählens geht die Untersuchung anhand einer systematischen Verschränkung der Philosophischen Anthropologie Helmuth Plessners mit der Erzähltheorie Paul Ricœurs sowie aktuellen literaturtheoretischen Ansätzen nach. Dabei zeigen Analysen zu Menschenbildern in Literaturen der (Post-)Moderne und Gegenwart, dass sich die jeweils vorgenommenen Bestimmungsversuche ebenso wie die wahrgenommenen Unergründlichkeiten auch auf die literarisch reflektierten Formen und Aneignungsweisen des Narrativen auswirken – und schließlich ein exzentrisches Erzählen erzeugen

    The ideal autobiographer is an intimate witness to many levels of history, the contributors to History of Psychology in Autobiography convey their complex intellectual journeys—the personal ones and that of the discipline itself—with profound skill and finesse. Covering a broad swath of the 20th century, these are brilliant examples of the nurturing of psychology by its various scientific and philosophical roots, the relationships between the individual and the society, and the joy and fascination of learning. As they relate their stories to the larger context of their times, each author becomes a testament to both the scientific method and the human imagination, from David Bakan (who finds a rich Freudian libido in ancient Jewish mysticism), to Erika Apfelbaum (who describes the disconnect between the field and the social movements of the 1960s), to Robert Rieber (who begins his essay with a poem).     This volume offers a collection of articles by leading legal and political theorists. Originally intended as a celebration of MacCormick's work on the occasion of the completion of the four-volume series on Law, State and Practical Reason, it has turned into a homage and salute after MacCormick's passing. Cast in MacCormick's reflexive spirit, the book presents a critical reconstruction of the Scottish philosopher's work, with the aim of revealing the connections between law and democracy in his writings and furthering his insights in each specific field. Neil MacCormick made outstanding contributions to the understanding of law and democracy under conditions of pluralism. His institutional theory of law has elucidated the close connection between the normative character of law as a means of social integration and legal social practices. This has produced a synthesis of the key insights of the legal and political theories of Kelsen, Hart, Alexy and Dworkin, and has broken new ground by undermining the 'monolithic' and 'nation-state' centered character of standard legal theories.

    This book addresses the problem of justifying the institution of criminal punishment.   It examines the "paradox of retribution”: the fact that we cannot seem to reject the intuition that punishment is morally required, and yet we cannot (even after two thousand years of philosophical debate) find a morally legitimate basis for inflicting harm on wrongdoers.  The book comes at a time when a new "abolitionist” movement has arisen, a movement that argues that we should give up the search for justification and accept that punishment is morally unjustifiable and should be discontinued immediately.  This book, however, proposes a new approach to the retributive theory of punishment, arguing that it should be understood in its traditional formulation that has been long forgotten or dismissed: that punishment is essentially a defense of the honor of the victim.  Properly understood, this can give us the possibility of a legitimate moral justification for the institution of punishment.?

Based on his complete work, including unpublished material and personal correspondence selected exclusively from the Uppsala archives, A Real Mind follows the chronological evolution of Hägerström's intellectual enterprise and offers a full account of his thought. The book summarizes Hägerström's main arguments while enabling further critical assessment, and tries to answer such questions as: If norms are neither true nor false, how can they be adequately understood on the basis of Hägerström's theory of knowledge?     This book explains strategies, techniques, legal issues and the relationships between digital resistance activities, information warfare actions, liberation technology and human rights. It studies the concept of authority in the digital era and focuses in particular on the actions of so-called digital dissidents. Moving from the difference between hacking and computer crimes, the book explains concepts of hacktivism, the information war between states, a new form of politics (such as open data movements, radical transparency, crowd sourcing and "Twitter Revolutions”), and the hacking of political systems and of state technologies.     Etymologische Ansätze zur Erfassung des Kitschbegriffs -- Entwicklungslinien entlang der Schwulst-, Reiz- und Empfindeleikritik im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert -- Die Kitschdiskussionen in der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts (1911–1955) -- Die Kitschdiskussion in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts (1955–1978) -- Ausblick: Kitsch und Camp Laurenz Schulz liefert neue Erkenntnisse hinsichtlich der Etymologie und des regionalen Ursprungs des Kitschbegriffs und zeigt auf, dass die Werte Wahrheit, Originalität und Distanz dessen Bedeutung in invertierter Form dominieren. Die bisher in der Forschung gängige Annahme, dass Rührung bzw. Distanz die wichtigsten Werte für den Kitschbegriff sind, werden vom Autor widerlegt. Ausgehend hiervon vergleicht er den Kitsch-Diskurs mit den historischen Vorläuferphänomenen sowie postmodernen Phänomenen wie Camp und Trash und stellt argumentative Parallelen und Wertkongruenzen sowie Unterschiede heraus.
