Ainsi, la réception du discours anatomique dans l'art et les échanges entre l'Italie et l'Espagne concourent à la représentation d'une figure humaine harmonieuse et au développement de thématiques témoignant plus largement de ces relations. Par ailleurs, le « Libro Segundo » de Juan de Arfe y Villafañe (1585) enseigne pour la première fois en langue espagnole les proportions et l'anatomie aux sculpteurs et aux peintres et il fait ici l'objet d'une traduction inédite en français
